If you are an avid skier and typically you choose ski in’n’out hotels this place is absolutely fantastic for its authenticity of true old world Alpine ambiance. This place is not for a non skier show off St Moritz type who is more concerned about being seen than making the last run at 4pm. This place is clean, cute with the friendliest staff I have experienced in decades. The simplicity, convenience and warmth make you feel like you are staying at your own rented chalet. Can’t wait to go back rain or shine. Thank you Srdiecko!!! HRW NYC
We have chosen this place as a "basecamp" for our family to be able to easily access hiking trails in Low Tatras. It serves this purpose perfectly and we have been able to start and finish our hiking paths from this hotel since it is locted at the very foot of the Chopok peak. You have great access to trails such as chata M.R.Stefanika, Derese or Polana. Last but not least I would like to share my "exemplary" experience with receptionist at this hotel. I had the privilege to be served by the same receptionist at the time of check-in and check-out and I have been pleased by very professional approach and willingness to help and suggest alternatives that helped me and my family to enjoy the stay at this place. I wish there were more people working in a "hospitality" as the receptionist Andrea D. Great Job and Thank you for making our stay enjoyable!…
The rooms are very nice. Big dinner and breakfast. There is also a wellness which is also very nice with 3 saunas 2 whirlpools. Definitely recommend this hotel if you are skiing in this area because the hotel is right next to the slopes.
The portion of parpadelle I have ordered was really small and according to the menu it was supposed to be really big (300 g). Although there were not to many clients waiting time for the waiter was very long - finally I had to call one. Could be fine, but that was disappointing experience.
We stayed at this hotel for a week. The rooms are very cozy and warm, the staff is really helpful. Breakfast and dinner were very good in variety and quality, really nice buffet every morning and evening. The spa area was very relaxing and comfortable. You could have lunch , coffee or drinks at the lobby which was very nice decorated. Very easy ski room, parking and absolutely ski in ski out. Excellent!
We stayed first week in February. The location is simply stunning for views and first class if you are an expert or a confident intermediate skier, as a steep red run leads directly down down to Krupova. Unfortunately we were not. A previous reviewer states that they rent skis and book ski school at the hotel. This is no longer the case, you have to get down to Krupova. If you have no car, (we didn't), then you either take a lift up to Kosodrevina, take a short walk across to the cable car station and descend to Krupova. Unfortunately, the hotel hadn't activated our GoPasse,s so we had to walk/slide/fall down the slope. Other issues, we are brothers not lovers, so didn't appreciate being put in a room with a double bed, not the twin we had booked! It was sorted out eventually, but we ended up in their smallest room. So not a good start. The food was plentiful, well presented and usually warm. The menu was very Slovakian, which suited us fine. It was quite heavy on carbohydrates and meat. Veg was usually evident in a salad. The table service in the Restaurant was excellent and the staff were always friendly. Very few of them had fluent English but that was our problem for not learning a bit of Slovakian!. The ski bar was comfortable again with table service. We really enjoyed the fire.…
We stayed in this hotel on New Years Eve 2016/2017. The location is great, its right on the hill, it has a great view. They also rent skis and do service, whats great. The hotel is old and it needs renovation, there are common areas which are renovated, some rooms downstairs are also new, unfortunately there were fullybooked, so we stayed in old rooms, bed was uncomfortable. Food was so so, nothing special. Bar downstairs by the reception has a small playing area for kids, not the greatest place for it, but its a really nice its there at least, my son loved to play there. I would recommend this hotel if you like to ski, as the location is great, book the renovated rooms and you will be happy. We had a great time
- rooms were simple but clean, the bed was compfortable, with a wonderful view on the mountains, but the shower was not really handy (the water was always flowing on the ground). The reception was very cosy though! - good food, nice varied breakfast which was included in the price, but the dinner was a bit expensive in camparison with other restaurants around (12€ for the buffet per person) - the staff was always really attentive and helpfull, they even made us a little breakfast the last day because we were leaving the hotel earlier - really close to ski slopes, you can litterally leave the hotel with your ski boots on, but if you are planning on coming at the beginning of April or after, check the weather before because the snow might be in not a good condition..
I had my most expensive beer in Slovakia (3 EUR per pint still less than back home). The food was decent, but the waiting time at around 1.00 PM was over 40 minutes so the whole experience was mediocre.
Hotel have a great location for skiers it is right on the slope, with good access by car. Nice ski-room - well equipped. Lobby, bar and restaurant are very nice. Room was ok, but nothing special. Bed was comfy for a good sleep after skiing the whole. Very cosy wellness.
