A friend and I stayed for a long weekend and found a welcome that exceeded all our expectations! Really comfortable rooms, incredible food (beef wellington absolutely fantastic!) and really pleasant and accommodating staff. Highly recommended!

Lovely stylish hotel on the main street of Thornhill, an elegant town in Dumfries and Galloway, in the beautiful Nithsdale area. This period property has been charmingly and stylishly updated and we had the most enjoyable stay. Comfortable bed, crisp linen, spotlessly clean, brand new bathroom, Molton Brown bath products, and lovely staff at check in, restaurant and breakfast. We...

We loved this place. We managed to mess up our room booking so arrived with no reservation (and with a dog) in the middle of their busy Saturday night dinner service but the warm and unflappable Alistair sorted everything out and couldn't have been more hospitable. Room was nice and we had a lovely dinner in the bright and bustling...

Girls night out to celebrate a colleague emigrating. Have not been here for years- what a transformation. Gone is the dark dingy old fashioned pub style restaurant. Now a bright modern establishment full of life and vigour. Would suit either a casual meal out or something a bit more dressy. Very busy for a Friday night. Food and service spot...

I stayed for a one night break as a last minute decision. The hotel was very comfortable and the staff welcoming. I should have booked for dinner because it was very busy in the evening (Friday) but as there are other eateries in Thornhill it was not too much of a problem. Breakfast was very good - freshly cooked and...

Staff were all very friendly & helpfull. Infact they came in early to allow us & some other cyclists to have breakfast & get off to the event. We stayed in a "classic" room which...

Visited this hotel April 2017. We received a warm welcome, staff attentive and our room was cosy and warm. Evening meal was good and breakfast delicious; however it included a cup of coffee and a refill always pleasant at breakfast time. Location was good and well worth a trip to Drumranlig Castle, the tour was excellent! Overall, a pleasant and...

Warm, inviting and friendly hotel. Nicely decorated, attentive and pleasant staff. I had the spicy lamb flat bread, salad & chips. Very nicely presented and tasted great. Scott had the chicken curry which tasted good, althought the chicken breast was in batter? Curry portion was small and would not suit those with a healthy appetite. Overall a lovely supper.

We stayed here in April and were given a top floor room which was very roomy and clean. The owners have created lovely accommodation with modern fittings and luxury on suite facilities. Breakfast was included which was very good and staff were friendly and kept us topped up with tea and coffee. Will definitely be back soon and will hopefully...
