This place is so well set up to cater for all needs. It must be busy in summer as it has all the facilities for camping and caravans, but we came in May when it was fairly quiet and stayed in one of the 3 bed little family rooms. Compact, with 70's vibe, but clean, warm and comfortable, and the...

Excellent camping area, really nice restaurant/cafe with a good range of beers, decent wine list and good food.Very helpful and friendly staff. The cafe is open from 7 am to 9 pm straight so you can always have something. Camping and RV spaces were available also. The shared bathroom facilities were clean and tidy. It also close to some good...

We stayed here because we left it late to book anywhere for our visit to Fiordland and this was as close as we could get - about an hour's drive from Manapouri. It also turned out to be close to some good coastal scenery on the southern coast. If you stay here, go and see Cozy Nook and Gemstone beach....

We chanced upon this campsite last week. The staff are friendly and helpful. The kitchen facilities are excellent and it is very well equipped. The washer and drier are efficient and good value. The pitches are spacious and tidy. We enjoyed our one night stay and would definitely return if possible. Wandering around the extensive organic vege garden and seeing...

No frills but very good value, very friendly and amenable staff, totally inclusive and relaxed. The cafe provides excellent meals worthy of a many starred restaurant, decent wine list and impressive range of beers. Didn't use kitchen facilities.

This place is not to be missed!! Tuatapere is in the south of the South Island and we were only in town because we were beginning the Humo Ridge Track the next day. Our biggest regret is that we did not enjoy the hospitality of the Last Light Lodge a couple nights longer. As it is we delayed going to...

What a surprise. This lodge appeared out of nowhere right when I started looking for something after a long day of driving. Not only is the place perfectly organised and clean, but they also run an amazing cafe. The menu is simple, seasonal and the blue cod salat tasted great. They grow their veggies themselves and the garden is accessible...
