My husband and I spent four nights in villa 10 which faced the bay side. Some villas face the ocean. There are only twelve which make it very private. Both views are spectacular. While on the private gorgeous beach, we usually saw only three or four other people. There are actually two beaches. There are plenty of comfortable lounge chairs with cushions and shaded gazebos for all guests. The water is the clearest lightest blue you can imagine, with a little reef in swimmable distance for snorkeling. We kayaked to find many swimming turtles and to a local lunch and bar joint called Chat and Chill which has an outstanding pig roast on Sundays. The food at the resort was outstanding. We watched the fresh catch of the day come in and ordered that. The lobster was the best I have ever tasted thanks to chef Ty. Each morning at breakfast (included), the concierge Cindy and the boat captain Gully would greet us and ask if we needed any help with plans for the day, especially if we wanted to use the resort boat to travel. She arranged a wonderful trip for us to take a half day excursion to see many of the cays and the swimming pigs. When we left after only four days, we felt like we were leaving friends behind instead of hotel staff. The room was gorgeous and the best part is the outdoor showers in every room. At night you can shower while gazing up at a thousand stars! Thank you Lumina Point staff for making this an incredible vacation.

First, let me say that this part of the Caribbean is absolutely unbelievably beautiful. Exuma still has a very rustic feeling, and has not been commercialized. The colors of the water look as though they have been dyed the most beautiful blues and blue greens everywhere you go. Lumina Point only enhanced the beauty of the surroundings. First, this is a small property, with only a dozen or so villas, so it was not a busy, noisy place, but rather a place to relax and soak in the surroundings. The rooms are a good size with a small kitchenette with a microwave, coffee maker, fridge, ice maker, etc.. Our room overlooked the water, so we woke up every morning and enjoyed coffee on our screened in porch, admiring 180 degree views of water and the palm trees dancing in the wind.

The beach on the property is beautiful, with soft white sand, a few cabanas, and beautiful clear water. The staff that worked the beach was great for both helping us with drinks and food when needed as well as offering water activities including snorkeling. There is a pretty decent smaller reef just off shore about 100 yards or so which made for a nice relaxing snorkeling experience.

The food in the restaurant was very good, and staff was attentive. Please remember you are on an off island (Stocking) from another relatively off the beaten path island (Exuma), so when things run out, they run out, there’s no 24/7 grocery store to run to, or food delivery services. Being a small property, it’s also properly staffed, but not in excess. This means at times, you simply may need to enjoy the “island speed” and be patient. None of this detracted from our experience, but rather reminded us we were on no schedule. Being a small property, the menu is a bit limited, but everything we tried was enjoyable, so it didn’t create any problems.

The staff was very friendly and courteous, helping us with suggestions and transportation when we went back to Georgetown for meals or other activities. The transportation to and from the airport (vehicle and boat) was efficient and friendly. The staff made you feel as though they were glad you were there and seemed sincere in their willingness to enhance your experience.

Our trip consisted of 3 couples and no children. Being in such a remote area, and on a small property, we were glad the kids were left at home. This is not to say they would not have enjoyed themselves, but rather the property is so relaxing we were able to truly soak in the relaxation without worrying about our kids becoming bored by it.

We’ve traveled quite a bit and been to many beautiful places, however our Lumina Point experience was extremely memorable. I joked with my wife that I did not want to publish this review because I want Lumina Point to ourselves and don’t want others to know what a gem it is. With that being said, this property deserves the recognition they earned for providing a fabulous vacation experience.

Thank you so much for your five star review! The beautiful blues and greens of Exuma definitely enhance the Lumina Point experience! The peacefulness of our resort is what draws our guests into staying with us. Our staff members do everything in their power to create memorable experiences for our guests. Since we are located in the Bahamas, island time exists, but we assure our guests get where they need to when they need to. We are so happy to hear you were able to soak in the relaxation of our resort. We truly appreciate all of your kind compliments and for providing your feedback. We cannot wait to see you back on property!

My husband and two other couples booked a 5 night stay at Lumina Pointe. It was perfection! The resort was beautiful. Very cozy and relaxing. We stayed in villa #2 and it was a few steps down a beautiful path right to the ocean / beach. The beach was amazing. Stocking Island/Exuma is gorgeous ! Every shade of blue in the water and the sky that you can imagine and the softest sand. They had staff near the water if you needed anything from water to drinks or even a photographer:) We brought floats and just chilled in the water with drinks. The staff was so accommodating and freindly , everyone from the Ferry drivers ( Addison) to the bar staff GiGi & Whitfield and Ty ( Chef/manager) who made us some great food! its a beautiful property and they have done a great job! Its a place we would love to come back to! The ferry ride they provided to georgetown was quick & easy and we saw sea turtles/sharks /rainbows on our rides back & forth which was very cool! The staff even helped us clean some shells we found to bring back home and helped us coordinate dinners & excursion times. It truly was the best vacation ever, thank you to all who helped make it so memorable.

Words and pictures fall short of the experience we had at Lumina Point. Ty and his staff are exceptional and go above and beyond to make sure guests have a wonderful stay. For example, we had a last minute off-property excursion schedule change. Not only did they quickly arrange for an earlier departure of the water taxi, they ensured that all members of our group were aware of the change. Ty even boxed up our breakfast, having it delivered to the dock when we thought we had to cancel our order. Every member of the staff was friendly and accommodating.

The rooms are comfortable with a porch providing a 180 degree view of the sunrise, white sand beach and turquoise water that is just steps away. The ocean side room is well worth the extra cost. Also loved the spacious outside shower. Because it is a small resort, it was quiet and private. The paths around the resort wind through lush greenery, making it feel like a remote tropical paradise. A perfect place for an adult getaway with friends to relax, unplug and unwind for a few days.

With delicious menu options at Blu (highly recommend the egg white omelet with fresh veggies at breakfast and lobster kebobs at dinner) as well as can't miss Chat N Chill within walking distance at low tide (or a very short water taxi ride away) and Georgetown a pleasant 10 minute boat ride away, options for meals abound.

My husband and I just visited for 5 nights with our 8 yo son and we had a wonderful stay. We opted for the beach front cabin and you are literally steps from the ocean. We arrived just after the resort had been closed for a couple of weeks from their low season so I feel like they were only up and running at 90% but nothing that bothered us too much e.g. spa and coffee shop were not up and running to full capacity. The staff were very friendly and accommodating to our needs. At low tide we walked around the bay to Chat and Chill which was a nice change of scenery in the evening. Our only complaint would be the dinner food choices - the menu was limited and we would have like the option to order off the lunch menu - especially for our son. We also loved that there is some coral reef just off the beach and we spent a lot of time there snorkeling and watching the beautiful fish.
