Took my husband and daughter and son in law for lunch on Friday. Fab choice of menu. Recommend the pies. you can choose puff or shortcrust topping and there is a lot of choices for the fillings. Starters very tasty also. Cooked well and served well. Good attention from the staff (Luke and Mandy). Not the first visit and will...

Easily the best pie we have ever eaten. And the pub is cosy, warm, friendly, and welcoming. We haven't stayed the night yet, but the owner, Phil, showed us around and they look fab. Dog friendly too! Keep meaning to return...If only we could find more babysitters! Well done to Phil, Manda and team. See you again soon :-)

Eaten here on several occasions now and just returned from a great evening. As always the pies here are amazing and not to be missed. Fantastic quality and quantity which you will not find elsewhere. Made to your specifications and cooked to perfection. The pub itself is also a great venue with a wood burner to enjoy on cold days.

We decided on the off chance to have a weekend away, the farmers boy came through on a deal through an email, so we thought why not try it. We live in the Chew Valley and have some exceptional pubs and restaurants in the area so what we found in this Inn was unexpected to say the least I called...

My wife and I arrived on Friday 5th February 2016 fresh from the Hillside Brewery tour for our first wedding anniversary weekend away. Luke was very welcoming and professional all weekend and is clearly a young man who is not only extremely good at his job but enjoys it also. We had an excellent lunch I had the peppered steak...

This is a bittersweet review to write. For weeks in advance, I'd been back and forth with Darren, confirming details for a group trip of 7 people. This was booked as a business travel trip, so that I could take a group of clients to brew beer at the Hillside Brewery. On arrival, the team were very welcoming, the rooms...

Went for business lunch....fire was on, relaxed atmosphere, and the food was perfect. I had the fish and chips and it was superb. The batter was crispy and the fish was really fresh. Very impressive and served very nicely. The barman was really helpful and served us quickly. Have to say, great place, obviously well run and popular with locals...

My wife was given a complementary stay as a gift for having her hen weekend staying at the Inn. Very generous gift so we thought we would make the most of the weekend and go walking in the morning up May Hill and checked in to the Inn about 3pm. We were quite shocked when we were shown to our...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Simply put, we love food. Not just for what it is, but for the experience that accompanies it. Homely surroundings, great company and conversation, attentive waiters, who become friends and of course fine wines from around the world. After a evening of gastro food delights, gourmet pies and laughter infront of the open fire retire to our courtyard of boutique individually designed rooms and drift off, to wake up to the sounds, sights and smells of the idyllic gloucestershire countryside. Followed of course by a hearty breakfast and maybe a stroll up the majestic May Hill ... more   less
