Superbly cooked food well presented and served attentively by friendly staff. And reasonably priced. Hard to beat. Stayed nearby and found this restaurant much less pretentious than some others in the vicinity.

This really old inn in its sleepy village was a delight. Nothing seems to have been changed inside. Low beams, stone floors, inglenook fireplace (lit). I go into so many pubs these days and they all seem to have had the 'makeover'. Not this busy busling little pub. It was a delight. Good points: it served great beer. Is good...

I'm guilty of not having reviewed this esteemed establishment yet despite several visits at different times of the day. Having just visited once more for a delicious lunch I thought I had better correct matters. It seems that no matter what time of the day you visit the kitchen is always well prepared for the critic. I am yet to...

We went to the Crown at the weekend and stayed overnight to do some walking in The Cotswolds-what a gem we found! The staff were all so lovely and welcoming, and the food was excellent. The pub is what you would imagine an old Cotswold pub to be like, roaring fires, great ales and a decent wine list. The rooms are...

Lovely place, good beer, good fire, good service, but the food is rubbish, small portions making it expensive, looked as if they threw the food onto the plate. Couldn't say I was full at the end of the two courses. It used to be good, say my friends. Something has changed!!!!!!!

What makes the perfect country pub? Roaring fires in winter? Check x2. Wonderfully kept local beers? Check. Friendly staff? Check. Delicious and varied food? Check x everything on the specials board. Set on the brow of a hill in the edge of nowhere (not even the middle of nowhere), this is a proper old pub. It has rooms in an...

Really friendly place to either eat or meet friends for a drink, I don't think anything could improve the atmosphere.. The staff appeared to all be really hard working and helpful adding to the experience. I strongly recommend visiting to see if you also agree.

Stayed for one night. Reception was warm and welcoming. Room spacious and comfortable. Evening meal with log fire burning was lovely. Very festive. Food was really nice and had time to chill afterwards. Would be a great place to visit in summer.
