I have a bad souvenir of this hostel as I've been bitten by some insects... I'm actually not sure if it was mosquitoes or bed bugs. It's still itching even 3 weeks after... The hostel is pretty with good facilities. Everything was clean and tidy. There is a bus stop just at the entrance, but the bus is not very...

one of the best experiences i have ever had. Sandy and Mark are a wonderful couple who gives you a ressort style stay in a YHA. You cant beat that anywhere. The grounds are an amazing feast for the eyes, the bathrooms and rooms are super clean. The resident pup and birds and animals are a sight to see. The...

The staff was very nice and friendly, and the rooms were nice and clean. BUT this place was in the middle of nowhere, just off the side of the road. It was in the woods and kind of spooky. I am glad I had my sister with me, because I would've hated to stay here alone.

Coming from New Castle with Port Stephen Coaches(bus) I arrived in Samurai through the help of google map. Samurai is just a 1 minute walk from the bus stop. Mr. Mark and Ms. sandy are approachable and friendly they welcome me by mentioning my name and it feels amazing. They tour me around and gave a clean bed set. The...

The by far the best hostel I've ever stayed in. Surrounded my rainforest and native bush you feel like your in the middle of a rainforest with the bonus of Nelson Bay 10mins down the road and beautiful beaches. Spacious rooms and a wicked bush kitchen which is great for socialising with other travellers and the local wildlife :-)

We stayed for 3 nights in a double cabin with private bathroom and wow this is no ordinary YHA! Our cabin was clean and stylish and well equipped with fridge and microwave, cutlery etc and a well equipped bush kitchen is situated in the centre of the park hidden from view by dense bush. The swimming pool was very welcome,...

This is a interestingly located collection of bush bungalows. There is an open kitchen frequented by wildlife and it's located close to shops and beaches (a car is ideal though). The accomodation is adequate, we stayed in the family room (1 of 2) with shared bathroom. The mattress was well beyond expiry date and the bathroom too. Some of the...

A friend and I stayed here for five night and we just loved it. The hosts did a great introduction to the whole of the Port Stephens area for us (explore as much as you can, it's stunning!) They were kind, friendly and clearly love running the place, they set the tone for our stay there and were always on...

Bungalows are distributed around the reception (with a swimming pool) and a lovely, clean and well-equipped bush kitchen. You literally stay "in the bush" with chances to see all sorts and sizes of lizards, possoms, birds, and occasionally pythons and koalas (we didn't unfortunately but there was one by a bungalow one evening during our stay and another one was...

Me & My sister decided to stop here last minute on our road trip up the coast, availability was good. We had no trouble getting a booking it was nice and simple. The location of the hostel though is something to mention. Now I don't know if its just the area in general or if its just this hostel but...
