Highlight is access to the huge sand dunes 2 minutes walk away, take a boogie board or other sliding apparatus, hours of fun. Lovely natural grounds and trees, perfect for children, not 'glitzy'. We had family reunion with 26 people including 10 young children - simply perfect, already booked again!

The Retreat is the perfect family reunion park with our range of accommodation buildings. The sand dunes out the back are something to be seen to appreciate and if you have a board that is all the better. We can not wait to see you all again, you were fabulous

If you can get all the bungalows and cabins it's great for a group. Good shared BBQ facilities, safe, close to the dunes and a walk across them to the beach. Good for fires in the cooler months though early curfew.

The Retreat for groups is the perfect location and to be able to have all the Cabins and Bungalows for a group is the best option. Perfect to families with the property being very private and safe for children to explore. The camp fires are definitely a draw card for the cooler months. We do have a 10pm curfew which...

Dunes are incredible and right outside the back fence. Staff greet you with a lovely smile and go out of their way to comfortabley accomodate you. The bungalow style accomodation was very basic with dated furnishings and noticed the floor was not cleaned properly upon arrival and maybe a tad exspensive, however, all in all, I was very happy and...

Yes the sand dunes are incredible and until you have seen them for yourself it is hard to explain the beauty of them. We have just recently started making furniture upgrades to the rooms to keep the rooms modern and fresh. To provide guests a clean, comfortable and peaceful location is our priority along with excellent customer service. We aim...

We had the most lovely stay at the Retreat Port Stephens. Very clean, tidy, cabin nice and spacious and comfortable. What was a big bonus for us being Pet Friendly with it's own outside court yard. So hard to find accomodation that allows pets when staying at ensuite cabins.

We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay and our pet friendly accommodation is popular. There are many places locally you can also take your dogs for walks which we are more than happy to share. We hope to see you again

We were fortunate to win a two night package at The Retreat and my husband and I shared a very peaceful and comfortable weekend in Cottage 4. The accommodation was warm and perfectly adequate. We enjoyed exploring the dunes, a delicious brunch at the Crest Cafe (equal to any we've had in our regular Eastern Sydney neighbourhood. Tracy & her...

The Retreat provided a great place for our extended family to get together. Set in a bushland setting with plenty of entertainment, especially the amazing dunes (bring your sandboards). We booked the Ranch and a Duplex which proved good value for money. Both provide large living areas and the Ranch has a great undercover verandah which enabled all 28 of...

Staying in the lodge, there is a great variety of spaces so 20 people didn't feel squashed. It's great to have big beds for the adults as well as bunks for the kids. The kitchen is superbly fitted out. Absolutely perfect but could benefit from air conditioning, at least in the lounge room.

We totally agree The Lodge is a fantastic building for large group and gives everyone plenty of time to spend together for family trips away. The kitchen is a great size and all the cooking and eating utensils are provided so need to bring them away. Plus the added advantage of a dishwasher so no one is left doing the...

We booked a two bedroomed cottage at The Retreat for my step daughters 21st birthday. Michelle, Julie and Tracey were very accommodating and allowed us to book in a little earlier than usual (we wanted to decorate the cottage) and book out a little later than usual as we needed to tidy up and take down all the decorations. The...

Our buildings do offer self contained kitchens and large fridges which is important as we...

“The Ranch is excellent with 3 comfortable bedrooms (sleeps 9 people) plus a sofabed in the lounge. If you're not keen on lots of bunk bedding, try to book the smaller cabins rather than the Duplexes. The Duplex and Ranch allowed our family of all ages to congregate easily.”
