The kandeth homestay place is very familiar. This is best place for to be stay. And good for families, friends, business teams etc... The have great view rooms and the have great service. We are so happy on there.
We were 13 friends who went to this place last weekend and we are really very happy about our experience. I would say everyone must visit this place atleast once. It is too spacious with quiet environment where you can enjoy your trip. Food is very nice but I liked the way they serve it for you. You can have TEA/Coffee N no. of times. And you will also enjoy Aunty's tasty food .They also have some good collection of books which you can enjoy in that environment. View from the terrace is also very nice. Personally I loved everything there.
I stayed with my wife at this homestay on 23rd April 2011. Our experience was mixed - hosts are kind people but they lack the foresight and skills to manage a homestay. When we went there we found that there were 12 other guests there ( mix of bachelor boys and girls) , they were planning to give us the single room upstairs so that we wont be disturbed by the gang of bachelors, but unfortunately 2 other couples also had booking for the same day and Joy was not aware. Joy does not speak english or Hindi which becomes difficult for a gues like us who are not from kerala. We had to move to the room at the ground floor and there was no proper bed in that room hence they made bed out of sofa and some sponge loafs on top. We are vegetarian and the food served was good , for dinner they had served sambar with two dry curries with payasam, but no curd. next day morning we had appam which was OK. The location is good for a homestay i.e, away from the town amidst aracanut/banana plantations. The approach road is not in good condition and hence if its raining then it will be very difficult to reach the place.…
We were a group of seven Germans. Our one week stay with the Kandeth Family is unforgettful. New building, very clean rooms which would match to our German standard, delicious indian food, very loving and service-minded staff ... ... In 2011 we will visit Kerala again and we have already booked "Kandeth Homestay".
Extremely friendly family run this very comfortable homestay - rooms large and clean, food wonderful and varied, pick up available from Manathavady Town (15 minutes). Lovely walking in lush Wayanad countryside. Joy can arrange trips to the local sights. Wildlife Sanctuaries (Tholpetty and Muthanga) within driving (day trip) distance (but the parks are sometimes closed in March because of fire risk). However, elephants don't respect park boundaries and can be seen on the roadside .. if you know where to go! They have a website.
