We had to organise accommodation at short notice. The price was reasonable (£48.50, not inc breakfast). We were offered breakfast at £9 pp or £5 for continental, we declined. The room was basic with tea and coffee facilities. The problem was everything was set up for one person; one towel, one set of biscuits etc... The rooms are pretty dated,...

Travelling with my partner to meet relatives we chose the Dark Barn Lodge due to the location and the fact it was dog friendly. Although we had seen mixed reviews we decided to give it a chance. Unfortunately a 2 night stop-over ended up being one. On arrival the sign at the driveway states that the Dark Barn is 'prestigious',...

We were looking for a short break and opted for The Dark Barn, originally for the cost of the room. What a wonderful surprise we had when we arrived. All the rooms leading off an open air sun deck, which I would imagine is a sun trap in the summer. The room was spectacular! Warm clean and very spacious. Checking...

Stopped over 2 nights on way home. Lovely clean, warm room, comfy bed, nice shower, plenty of hot water, free wifi, breakfast not included. I have mobility probs and this was ideal as all on one level and parking is close to rooms.

We stayed here en route to Somerset and had our elderly Lab with us. The room was warm, clean and spacious with plenty of room for the dog bed. Shower room had lovely big white towels and free toiletries. Breakfast was great and at a time of our choosing. The owner made our stay pleasant and was most accomodating.

I booked this late as a last minute business trip. The staff were very welcoming and friendly throughout the whole process. I arrived late and there was someone to greet me and show me my room. The room was spacious and clean although a little cold on arrival, but it was late. I had a comfy night and a good...

Husband and I stayed here for two nights to attend friends wedding. The accomodation is a little way out of Gloucester so if you are planning on using a taxi make sure you leave ample time and have cash - minimum charge of £15 for a taxi. This was more expensive than a London black cab! Accomodation is clean and...

Location waa fantastic. Room with en suite shower room was large and clean. Breakast was very good - plenty if choice and cooked freshly to order. Owners made the stay - friendly, hospitable and welcoming. However the dividng walls to the adjoining rooms were thin so noise could be heard from both sides and the bed was uncomfortable with only...

Aim was to stay 3 nights - I lasted 1 and checked out. First time in 3-4 years I've left somewhere early. I was on business and things that let this place down for me personally were: 1. The room smell was unpleasant - old/musty 2. Wifi advertised but impossible for me to work in room as signal was so...
