We had a great stay at Crinan. The hotel is a little rough around the edges for a four star hotel but it is comfortable, clean and pleasant nonetheless. The location is what sells it - the views in the morning are breathtaking. The food is also top-notch!

This is the definition of away from it all - in the best way! We had incredible views from a huge balcony, perfect for sipping wine with a book, and always something to watch with the activity around the lock at the end of the canal. Our dinner experience was brilliant, both the food (every course) and the perfectly judged...

Beautiful and stunning location but sadly the hotel could do with a wee bit of tlc....it looks very tired and re-decoration would not go a miss. For the prices they charge they really need to invest in the hotel and bring it up to the high standard to match the tariffs However we did have a lovely stay and our...

Thank you for your comments, possibly you were here on the day of the carpet fitters as we have been doing lots of rooms,I think our newly decorated Westward Restaurant Restaurant with the lovely striped Designers Guild linen looks amazing. The Seafood bar has also just been done with Ralph Lauren the very best. The thing about the hotel is that we want...

I agree with most of the reviews that the hotel is in need of some investment. Surprised to find that we had no shower ensuite, just a bath with a hand spray. The hotel looked tired but our bed was so comfortable and we had a great nights sleep. We ate at the bar and the food was excellent. Seafood...

Thank you for your comments, maybe you were here before the carpet fitters this week ,I am sorry. We do have two rooms with bath and hand held shower ,last time on, the charge was £75 for a couple band B a opposed to £230 in April so really a bargain,as you say the beds are hugely comfortable and the food amazing...

If there is a finer location in Scotland, for vistas, I have yet to find it. If the Crinan Hotel had operators who cared for their business, and reinvested some capital, time and effort, it would have 100% occupancy, 52 weeks of the year. The Hotels location is absolutely breathtaking! Sadly, I don't buy into peoples reviews of it being...

Stayed at Crinan Hotel for one night ( wish it had been longer). We were so lucky with the weather, absolutely glorious. Enjoyed a fabulous meal in the bar, staff were attentive and friendly and room was fine. A little 'tired ' maybe but clean and comfortable, however the view was to die for. Will definitely be back and would...

Great privately owned hotel with bags of character. You will be hard pushed to find a location a stunning as the Crinan Hotel. If you like boats as I do, sea views, good food good beer and clean comfortable rooms try this hotel. The staff are some of the best I have met in all the years of business travel,...

Enjoyed an overnight stay here last week. We had bought an Itison deal and as we had stayed at Crinan before we knew what a good deal it was. We were also lucky to have picked the best day of the year for our visit. The view from our room was stunning. The food, as ever, was top class. We...

Visited the "seafood bar" and took the advice of going early. Just as well as very small and fills up very quickly. Good service from the bar staff and your order is taken at the table. There is a few different dishes on the menu from the norm in the area. I had Arbroath Smokie which you don't see often...
