We spent 3 nights in this beautiful place with great homemade food, respecting all diet needs. We had the chance to explore the sauna and also visit the nearby lake. Next time I go to Finland I would arrange my trip to visit Taulun again!
This is a beautiful holiday place for those people looking for quality and quiet times. This resort has outside sauna and indoor sauna. The rooms are big and they can accommodate two or three people. They also have event hall that can be used for meetings as other events. The chef is very good and the food quality is very good. They have good vegan and vegetarian meals. They also have a small lake where you can swim during summer and in winter you can still swim if you are strong enough 🤣. They also have smoke sauna by the lake.
we were staying there for a week, and i dont regret. we were at the lake villa. quiet isolate in the nature, perfect. the villa has all you need . and its very close to jyväskylä. i'll come again next year.
The place was very beautiful. The cozy environment, in a quiet position. Breakfast was ok. The staff were really friendly. Clean rooms and well-maintained environment. No air conditioning in rooms.....
Let's start with the positive things. The place was very beautiful. Rooms were clean and good quality. The sauna in the main building was good and had a nice outdoor jacuzzi. Breakfast was basic. The 18th century smoke sauna was really nice. Despite all this I felt there was something missing. In places like this you normally get in close contact with the owners and the staff. Here I felt a little left alone and the service wasn't quite what I expected. On both evenings of our stay there was only a staff member hired from another company. As they don't work here regulary they don't necessarily know the service mentality of the manor. Lunch & dinner was ok, but to be honest a little tasteless. As a food person I expected more. In my opinion the price is too high for what you get. Even though the facilities are very good there are improvements to be done in service and food. If the price was cheaper I wouldn't complain at all.…
We visited Taulun Kartano for one night in the beginning of August. As active travellers we have seen a lot of different hotels, B&Bs, countryside manor accommodations etc. in Finland so I would say we have good background data to compare this stay to others. Due to our fixed travel schedule we booked our stay about a month ahead by email. As we arrived in the evening, the first issue was with the room we were assigned to. During the reservation we expressed our wishes and were replied that certain room is booked for us - however, when we arrived our room was not the one we expected. To me this is a signal of lost details and failing promises which should not happen in service business. When I mentioned that another room was indicated to us in our reservation, the lady in reseption glanced her papers and said "this is your room". She clearly did not have information of our reservation, or had decided to ignore it. The room we had was smaller one according to their own category. There was two beds, small desk and small closet for clothes. TV in the room was very, very small (travel size, see the picture) so if you plan to watch something that might be an experience. Private bathroom was with shower. If everything would have been in order perhaps the room change would have been okay, but in this room there were points that could not be overlooked. Major thing that is not at all acceptable to me is if there are issues with cleanliness and in this room there sure was. Beds were clean so we could stay, but in shower the floor drain had a bundle of somebodys hair welcoming us, wall beside the washbasin had some stains that should have been wiped after previous guest, the chandelier in bedroom had 2 dead bulbs and third one constantly flickering about to die soon. Additionally the chandelier plus other lamps had easily visible spider webs and dust on them. In my opinion I do not expect too much to have a clean room to visit as paying customer and therefore to me this is way below standards. Next issue came with the location of the room as it was right beside a common lounge room where quests could meet. Late in the nigh some quests were spending their time there having loud discussions. As this was right beside our beds, sleeping was impossible until the other quests retreated. Taulun Kartano offered sauna for guests in the morning; for men this was available from 7 to 8 am and for women 8 to 9 am. Sauna was clean and nice design. Breakfast buffet consisted of warm dishes; bacon and scrambled eggs plus cold options; yogurt, cold cuts, cheese, cucumber, tomato. Bread, rolls and croissants were offered as well as tea, coffee and juice. Food was nicely presented and good quality. During the breakfast we noticed most of the other guests being from outside of Finland. Overall this stay did not meet our expectations, especially when this was also on the expensive side of accommodation cost level in Finland.…
