Love this place! Me and my Husband have been coming here for about 6 years for our anniversary. I recently decided I’d bring my daughter up with me so we could have some quiet time, chill out and so she could check it out. She loved it and she loved the horses! I’m actually coming back next week for my Birthday! We met with Paul who checked us in, he explained and followed all covid protocols. Rooms were clean as always. Everything was in working order in the main area and our room. The hot tubs were not operating, as expected due to covid. The breakfast is always so fresh & delicious! There is always well stocked tea, cookies and condiments in the lobby. In our room we had firewood, popcorn, pop and water. The Skye Suite is super cute and romantic!!! This place is amazing if you’re looking for a romantic getaway or just looking to spend some time away alone. One day when I get the chance to I would like to check into the Rob Roy Croft, Ben Nevis Croft or the Duntroom Croft, as it’s pretty much the only part of this magical place!!! Go here, you’ll love it! …
Stayed at Pretty River Inn October 2020. The Inns grounds are extremely unique and very picturesque! I was, however, disappointed during my stay for several reasons. While we are all aware we are in a pandemic, the owner and his wife greeted us wearing a mask they must have reused too often as they were brown on the outside! My worry was magnified by the common areas throughout the Inn. The dishwasher in the Croft rooms common area was full of dirty dishes as the dishwasher was not in working order. This meant I had to handwash porcelain mugs for my coffee each morning. During a pandemic this is unsanitary. The Inn's whirlpools are not in use (the owner claimed this was due to the pandemic, although public health has given the go ahead to reopen whirlpools so long as a cleaning protocol is in place). My room itself was beautiful. The Duntroon has a stunning wood burning fireplace and an exemplary comfortable bed, but the Duntroon room was advertised as having a 2 person whirlpool tub but the owners knowingly rented out this room with the whirlpool tub NOT in working order. This is simply false advertising and misleading. At the very least the Inns rooms should be discounted to reflect what isn't working. The breakfast supplied was very good with plenty to choose from and was by far, the best thing about the inn. I hope they resolve these issues soon in order to preserve their future! …

The property and the valley is absolutely gorgeous; and this was in December! The fireplace was the reason we picked this Inn and we weren't disappointed. The Rob Roy Croft was quiet and cozy and we just swung the sofa around a bit and cozied straight up to the fire. The breakfast was perfect with good fresh fruit but I marked down one star for no evening meal available on-site. Worth the drive.
A few friends of mine and I spent the night there and my only regret is not staying longer. This place is like a piece of heaven. The magical combination of Mother Nature's beauty and all it's gifts, warm and loving people with excellent service, all the amenities you could want, beautiful grounds and views and then to awaken to a super yummy homemade breakfast, far beyond the usual. And then, of course, the easy access to some of the greatest mountain biking, beaches, hiking, restaurants and great towns of Collingwood and Thornbury. What a gem! And what a pleasure to have access to a place like this. Thank you for sharing your home with us. We will be back for more and I highly recommend others gift themselves for a few nights, at least.
