A friend and I recently spent several days on the Isle of Skye, staying 1 night at Rowan Cottage near Elgol. This was our 2nd visit to the Elgol area (having loved it the first time) and we wanted to stay overnight in the area. Choosing Rowan Cottage was the best decision of our trip. It was a rainy afternoon...

My mum and I stayed with Christine and Jim for two nights in September. The house is a little jewel. It is very remote, and when I say remote I say paradise. There is nothing around and the place is perfect for people who look for peace and quiet! It is possible to reach the b&b after 40 minutes drive...

Wonderful B&B, lovely owners, scrummy food (beg Christine to make her fishpie !), clean and comfortable - and - we were slightly concerned at time to get to Elgol from main route thru to Uig to catch ferry - but it really isn't too far, and ferry timings worked perfectly. Thank you Christine and Jim.

This is an excellent B&B and a good place to stay for sea trips from Elgol or when touring or walking in the area. The room was well decorated, warm and clean. The bed was comfortable and the hosts, Christine and Jim, are really friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was superb, as was the dinner we pre-booked knowing we would have...

Christine and Jim are born hosts. They are genuinely kind and hospitable. Their house is very cozy and our bedroom and bathroom were comfortable and immaculately clean. The best part of the house, though, is probably the dining-room: the views are stunning!! As a matter of fact, we don’t think the photos on their website do enough justice to what...

Two nights' stay here with another couple in June gave us an excellent base from which to explore the Straithaird Peninsular, Lake Coruisk, and a boat trip to Canna. Our rooms were comfortable. Supper was good; Breakfast was fortifying! Advice on local sights was knowledgeable. All told, a very happy stay!

I stayed at Rowan Cottage when I was walking the Skye Trail. I stayed 2 nights, when I completed the Slignchan/Elgol leg, and I also returned after I completed the Elgol/Torrin leg (returning by bus from Torrin). I again used the bus to pick up the trail again in Torinn.(the cottage is actually situated on the Skye Trail!) The accommodation...

Can't say enough good things about this B&B. The hosts are extremely nice, almost to a fault. They go out of their way to make sure you're well taken care of. The food they prepare for you is simply amazing. Quiet and clean rooms, hot showers, a beautiful view of the lochs, a cozy lounge room with fireplace... a wonderful...
