#1 of 2 hotels in Volvic
A very pleasant and friendly hotel Located in the heart of Volvic, on the main square, next to the church, the Hôtel du Commerce is the ideal position for exploring and visiting the Puy de Dôme. At 15km from Clermont-Ferrand (19km from the airport), at 9km from Riom (station of Riom-Chatel-Guyon), 10km from the A71 (Riom), and at 15km from the A89 (exit Manzat), it is at the crossroads of the discovery of the Auvergne region. A new team (photo), led by Didier (photo), is in command of the Hôtel du Commerce since the beginning of the year 2016. Ex member of the Club Med, Didier has decided that a convivial atmosphere would be the key word of the hotel. Today, the hotel proposes 12 family-size rooms, both spacious and luminous, able to accommodate from 1 to 4 persons. Extra beds are proposed for the babies. The restaurant Fresh products, a menu which is simple but renewed daily, local recipes revisited, this is the spirit of the table of the Hôtel du Commerce. For the supply, the hotel has its favorites like the family butcher's and cold meats shop Côte à côte which breeds and transforms its pigs in a nearby village and the Jardin des Den which grows its organic vegetables on the neighbouring volcanic lands. The young chef, Thomas (photo), concocts his recipes with the best the market and the season have to offer. He is truly dedicated to promote the local products, coming if possible, from short supply circuits and to propose dishes which are classical, tasty and innovative. In addition to the daily menus, special formulas may be composed, upon request, for the groups or special occasions. As for the wine cellar, the Hôtel du Commerce proposes to discover the products, not always well-known of the Auvergne vineyards and also allows to appreciate its favorites for the out-of-region productions. The hotel can receive groups and its rooms, when booked in advance, are available for the private events of the groups.

Friendly service in slightly tired hotel. Breakfast was very good. Not much to do in Volvic so you will probably be stuck in the hotel for dinner - not bad but a bit overpriced due to being in a hotel.

we were three motorcyclists staying in the local campsite and looking for a place to eat evening dinner. Simply put the food was superb, and the waiter and afterwards the manager were extremely courteous and friendly. I cannot rate this establishment highly enough. Well done guys!

Visiting Volvic on the way back home on Sunday we had trouble finding a place for lunch as it was almost 2 pm and the town looked deserted... We ended up at the restaurant of hotel du commerce and it is exactly the kind of unexpected experience we were looking for. Amicable service. Fresh and local products and an interesting Côte d'Auvergne at a very cheap price (12 euros a bottle). The terrine maison and the charcuterie were simple but my grand mother would not have done any better. The paleron and supreme de volaille were cooked just right, melting in the mouth but without being dry, accompanied with fresh mushrooms and lardons. Authentic and tasty. The deserts, crumble aux pommes and mousse au chocolat were equally simple and pleasant. And since we did not finish the wine bottle we were offered to take it away. And everything for a very reasonable price. I can only warmly recommend this place.
