Amazing place in the middle of the nature on the way to Etna. Petri and Patrizia are managing the facility very well, they are kind and very helpful. Great outdoor place for barbecue, bar inside, beds are very comfortable and clean. I recommend the place for enjoying relaxing time and for having a nice walk/hike on trails on the way to Etna.

We spent Christmas in this comfortable mountain lodge. Despite fairly cold weather, the lodge was was warm and the beds comfortable The situation on Mount Etna is spectacular, and the numerous paths and tracks are excellent for walking and cycling. This is not a hotel but a mountain lodge intended mainly for trekkers, cyclists and day-trippers (hence the lower grades for services and rooms below). For overnight accommodation, it has beds in a shared gallery but no separate rooms. Outside there are several barbecues at the disposal of self-catering guests. The lodge is managed by a friendly and helpful couple who have an excellent command of English and knowledge of the surroundings and the available facilities.

Delightful place with a view for a short break in a newly renovated rifugio at mount Etna / Manfre to be precise. Enjoy the welcoming atmosphere of hosts Patri & Petri and, depending on the booking situation, either moments of silence and solitude or of inspiring sharing with other travelling souls. The interiors are built in a minimalistic modern style, still in a cosy way. Suits perfectly well singles, families and small grops. In October, my tips for activities in the area are making the most of the surrounding oak woods, wandering around picking chestnuts and walnuts or following one of the many marked pathways across old lava fields. If you have more than one day to spend, consider a boat trip out at Catania seafront, or a day at one of the marvellous beaches nearby. To do this, you will naturally need a car, vespa or other vehicle if you are not a real sport.
