I stayed in that cozy farmhouse hostel for one night and can definitely recommend it to others. The house/rooms were clean and tidy and the owner very friendly and welcoming. The view was amazing despite the doubtful weather and the WIFI working well - so I have nothing at all to complain about...

We stopped here while seeing Hvitserkur, and ended up spending way more time on the. beach than seeing the rock formation. You can access the beach from the Hvitserkur parking lot. It's a somewhat steep path, but isn't too difficult to get down (or back up). We say seals, jellyfish and starfish. It's a really neat area to walk. Highly...

The guest house is not easy to reach, some 25 kms from a tar road, but has the convenience that it is a bordering a spot on a fjord where you can view plenty of birds and also seals. We stayed in some 5 hostels across Iceland and would rate this one as the least attractive in terms of infrastructure,...

spend one Night there, after having driven the entire day on dirt roads in pouring rain. It might have influenced our experience, but nevertheless this place was one of the best hostels we have stayed at in Iceland. Plenty of atmosphere and cosy corners.

I stayed here for one night, as I wanted to photograph the Hvitserkur stack, which is about a 20 minute walk down a track and along the beach. The hostel is fairly basic, and I could only find one bathroom, which is not great for the number of beds! Friendly owner comes by when you show up. The free wifi...

Not your typical hostel. Lots of common areas that ramble around a bit. Rooms were basic single beds, small rooms. They could afford to replace their pillows. Wifi was free, but weak. Staff was helpful. Slim offerings for breakfast, but adequate. Great location along the coast, just across from a seal colony. We really enjoyed driving along the coast further...

We did not really know what to expect when we drove down the road to the hostel. Some other travellers we had met had implied that this place was different. And this it is! This is no luxurious clean new hostel but a converted farmhouse with many unusual features. There re some good points and some difficulties but staying only...

I stayed in Osar for my second night in Iceland. I had spent all day on the road, and arrived a couple hours before reception closed. As I was driving on the gravel road, I came to the most beautiful view of the mountains and water, realizing that the hostel was looking onto this spectacular scene. At check-in I was...

A place that dreams are made of. Truly worth the drive out, and stop to climb on the rock fort on your way. In May it was only partially occupied and my husband and I booked a whole cabin to ourselves. There is a house of rooms and also 3 beautiful cabins all made by the owner who is a...

I loved my stay at Osar - Knutur was such a wonderful host, so friendly and outgoing. I loved hearing about the history of the farm house and am glad that it is now a hostel. My room was cozy and comfortable. Almost the entire house was full that night, which was surprising since it was 30 minutes off the...
