Peace, quiet, tranquillity - pristine rainforest views from every balcony, hummingbirds, motmots, woodpeckers, tanagers, bananaquits all busy round the feeders - sometimes the only sound was the whirring of the hummingbirds' wings! Such a wonderful setting, surrounded by forest, river down below for walks to see rufous tailed jacamars, herons and cool your feet in the clear streams! Cool off...

This is a gem! The location, the rooms, the service, the food! We went to Cuffie for the amazing birding and were treated to amazing views of such hard to spot birds as the Potoo and Nighthawks. Not to mention the array of daytime birds. The owner has created a peaceful world of comfort in the wild. Desmond, the lodge's...

This place does not have the huge number of birds that Asa Wright has, but I think I liked it even better. It was really quiet & peaceful. The lady that runs it is great & the food she cooks is quite good & traditional. We had a 2nd floor room that was plenty large & featured a private little...

We really enjoyed our 3 nights at this lovely place. Food was super (thank you kitchen staff), rooms were spacious and hospitality was gracious. The Bird life was prolific, and the swimming pool very welcome. Regina was a perfect hostess. Thoroughly recommended.

Just came back a week ago from this peaceful paradise in the rainforest. What a wonderful time we had. The best place to stay in Tobago if you want to see birds all around and get away from everything. For wildlife photographers and nature lovers, it's heaven on earth. You get up with orange-winged Parrots, blue-crowned Motmots, crested Oropendulas, (we...

Highly recommended. Unless you insist on being on the water, this is the place to stay in Tobago, particularly for birders. An out-of-the-way location surrounded by forest, with great birding from your balcony. Very comfortable rooms and excellent food. No mosquitos!

Cuffie River is a "nature retreat" and is really a retreat. A great place to see birds and other wildlife in good clean rooms with great showers. Best of all - absolutely terrific food! Regina, the owner, host, and on-site manager has trained a great kitchen staff that, with her help, produces excellent meals. There is always fresh fruit, good...

Our group thoroughly enjoyed staying here. The retreat facilities, the hospitality, the food and the surroundings were all first rate. This is a peaceful, natural setting amid tropical rain forests in Tobago's mountainous country. You are surrounding by birds of many species, including hummingbirds and Chachalacas. The rooms have open deck areas on both sides, so you are always close...

As we always do, we booked a last minute getaway, and this time chose Tobago. Staying at Cuffie River made the trip a wonderful one. Regina was such a delight - she arranged a rental car and a local hike, cooks the best food on the island, and was extremely friendly and thoughtful. This is a nature retreat, so the...

We were two couples on a 10 night holiday on Tobago. Cuffie was the first stop, for 4 nights. It was "rainy season" which means a shower in the morning, and maybe in the afternoon for 20 minutes, surrounded by brilliant sunshine the rest of the day. Cuffie is beautiful, peaceful, and a perfect way to unwind from the world....
