It's very hard to put it into words how gorgeous the Darnley lodge is in Athboy! But all I can say is that it is a gem for their gorgeous carvery, a la carte menu and not to mention the best pint of guiness in Meath for sure! A special thank you to David, Liam and Robbie who always go above and beyond for all of their customers, we love going into them for our drinks & chats, and we are always greeted with such a lovely warm welcome! All of the staff are so kind and are always willing to look after you so well.

Dropped in for evening food. Roast of the Day was perfectly fine. Vegetarian main meal of spring rolls, salad and chips was awful. Just because a meal doesn't have meat doesn't mean it has to be bland, also should still have protein. Absolutely no protein in this. One of the most unhealthy and horrible tasting meals I ever had. Chips and spring rolls obviously highly processed and previously frozen and coleslaw smothered in thick gloopy mayo. Never again.

My wife and I stayed in the Darnley Lodge on the 7th July for our wedding anniversary. We had a Pigsback voucher which was 18th months old and the team at the hotel had no problem honouring the voucher - thank you Hazel! Upon arrival and after checking in we were given our room key and to our amazement we were given a lovely suite with a four poster bed ad the most luxurious bathroom we had ever seen in any hotel we have stayed in. All the staff were extremely helpful, courteous and friendly and could not have done more to make our stay a most memorable one. We had a fantastic meal in the hotel that evening and when presented with the menu it was personalised with the heading "Happy Anniversary" which we both though was a lovely personal touch. Thanks to all the team for looking after us so well and we look forward to returning to stay with you again soon. We would highly recommend the Darnley Lodge to anyone who is looking for a vacation in a lovely hotel which offers exceptional customer service.

I cannot express how excellent our stay was at Darnley Lodge Hotel!!! Everything from first point of contact with Hazel was fantastic. The hotel is beautiful and very clean. The staff are brilliant, so friendly and helpful, going above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. Food and service is also fantastic. Highly recommend the hen party package and I'm looking forward to staying here with my partner in the future.

Eat here atleast once a week with their take away dinners being a breath of fresh air! Affordable prices for the standards and prices of the food and I can't fault them at all. Staff are all so incredibly friendly and are so kind to customers. 100% would recommend for a dinner or lunch here! Can't wait till they reopen for a sit down dinner.
