We chose the ensuite tent so we would not have to walk to the toilets in the middle of the night. That was a wise decision. The tent was surprising warm - it did get down to 8 degrees on night but not a problem. The toilet and shower were unique and well designed - great hot showers and a...

We have just spent an exciting few days at Takarakka resort in a safari tent. This was our first time 'glamping' and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The tents have a bed and the welcome addition of a fridge. We also had the en suite which was a great facility. The resort is well maintained and very organised with talks, guided...

This campsite is remote but has all of the comforts of home. The staff are very friendly and helpful.Amenities are very clean and well maintained. The staff offer a roast dinner 3 nights a week and it is amazing. Not to be missed. The most interesting part is that on Monday mornings a fruit and veggie truck arrives and you walk...

Great location and very good facilities. The walks through the gorge are brilliant. We're both in our 60's and not very fit but managed the 15km walk in about 6 hours and were ok. Very sore feet afterwards but only did the short walks on the second day. We broke our trip from Brisbane with an overnight in Roma. We...

Great to hear you enjoyed the beautiful facilities at Takarakka and the stunning Carnarvon Gorge. Sad to hear the bed was too hard for your liking as the majority of our guests love the Studio beds.

We limped into Takkarakka resort feeling rather low after having mechanical difficulties en-route. Within minutes the friendly staff had a mechanic organised and us checked into our Safari Tent for the next 3 nights with very friendly and emphatic assistance. We quickly relaxed into this very unique way of life. All amenities are spotlessly clean and the bush kitchen is...

Our Taka team are always happy to help and were thrilled to be able to get you back on track. It's awesome to see that you were able to leave your stresses behind and enjoy Taka Time's unique way of life. The wildlife are very comfortable around our guests and it's not at all unusual to have an echidna wander...

My family stayed in the Ensuited Taka Safari Tent - late April 2017. It easily accommodated 2 adults and the kids (5 & 3) loved the bunk beds. It is snug, but for us the tent was only for sleeping so we didn't need much room. Plenty of room outside for the kids to run around while we had a...

Spent 4 nights in April- beautiful weather: 28c. Just a few km from the national park, this well equipped CP made bush camping easy- beautiful setting with plenty of roomy sites, optional power, spacious well equipped and clean camp kitchen, communal log fires, with optional yummy spit roast if you want a night off cooking. Grateful that the NP camping...

We had a lovely stay in our swag at this camp for four nights. The grounds are lovely, with fabulous big camp kitchens that had a real buzz at night with other hikers swapping stories and being friendly. The amenities were great for a caravan park, clean, and awesome hot showers. Highly recommend the roast dinner nights but book in...

We spent 4 days over Easter in a Studio Cabin, wow. Firstly, lets talk about location. The six cabins were placed discreetly behind some trees, away from the rest of the camp ground and yet not isolated. A 100mt stroll had you at the location of the 4pm 'Happy Hour' where one could purchase an array of drinks at reasonable...

You've got it in one. Takarakka's the perfect spot. Thanks so much for the lovely review. Brilliant to hear you were able to kick back and enjoy all that we have to offer. Sitting around the fire pit with a few beverages and solving the world's issues couldn't be any easier or more comfortable. We hope to see you again...

Takarakka is the ideal place to stay when exploring the wonderful Carnarvon Gorge. Staff were very helpful with suggestions about walking trails and platypus viewing. During school holidays, happy hour is on every afternoon. The showering amenities are homely but were always clean - just stay alert for local wildlife that might take up a position in the showers!! The...
