Absolutely wonderful in every respect! The beautiful and friendly staff at this picturesque Resort & Hotel have hosted us for a stay we will never forget. With manicured gardens and a panoramic view of the extravagant mountains in the back ground overlooking the huge swimming pool, this impeccably kept Hotel paints a true picture of Italy’s best kept secret in the South - Calabria! My wife and I have been spoilt with kindness and warmth from the all the team and have enjoyed 5 star luxury including dining at the exclusive restaurant and relaxing in the exquisite spa. We can only imagine what it would be like in summer if Winter was paradise. This is the best stay of our holiday .... 10/10 V
We stayed in this resort for our anniversary, the structure is surrounded by greenery but at the same time there is a breathtaking view of the Gulf of Sant'Eufemia. The room was really very spacious and spotless, the restaurant serves very high quality food, the spa is superb and also has a large jacuzzi, but the aspect that impressed us most is the kindness and professionalism of the staff, in particular Gabriella, Isabella, Alba and Alexandra. It is also noteworthy that the staff, knowing it was the day of our anniversary, brought us a cake at the table, which was also given to us as a present. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED RESORT.
Our room (#659) was a little small. There was not a lot of space to spread out our things. Still, it was comfortable. The bathroom had adequate space around the sink for toiletries. The hotel provided body lotion, soft soap in a pump container for sink and shower. The shower itself was very small, and there was no tub. The A/C worked well. Lighting was okay, but a little dark in certain areas, such as where the room safe was (it was hard to read the instructions). After a little effort, the WiFi was quite good. The grounds are beautiful. Because the hotel is in the hills, the surroundings are very lovely. It’s quite peaceful and relaxing, and a great place for walking. The pool is large and beautiful. The food was quite good. Our dinner was well liked by everyone. The breakfast buffet was surprisingly well stocked. The bacon and eggs were well cooked, the baked goods were delicious and there was a good selection of other items. There was no American coffee available. But still very good. And the personnel were very helpful and friendly. We'd gladly return.…
The cabins of the hotel have a beautiful earthen coloring on the outer walls.. Everything is spotless and clean and at a very high standard. The pool is beautiful and pleasant. Dinner was very very good with excellent service, and with a nice mood setting accompanied by a piano. I wish we had booked for more than one night. Beach is 10 minutes away but the access road is quite difficult.
We came with a tour and it was not busy. We stayed in a bungalow. The only noise you will hear is that of your neighbour as the units are semis. You are away from any town however the villages are not very interesting in any case. You come with a bus or drive. The staff provided friendly and exceptional service. The room was clean and the beds comfortable. The food is very good so you need not drive off to find a restaurant. The resort is 5 kilometres from the main road. There is a pool for the summer months.
We visited here during the week, on a Wednesday. It is off season probably, but me and my husband were celebrating our anniversary. The property was beautiful and well maintained. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality and service was great! Very friendly and helpful staff , could not complain. Great grounds, restaurant and the food was splendid. Breakfast was included in our stay and there was a great variety and selection of food. We also spent a couple of hours at the spa to relax... It was bliss, i am sure though on weekends and high season it would be more busy. We would like to go back and stay again.Kudos to all the staff we encountered. Service is everything and you all exceeded our expectations. Thank you!
A pleasantly laid out 'bungalow ' style complex, with superb views. Accomodation comfortable and clean, with outdoor patio, including table and chairs, nice swimming pool (quite shallow), walking trails, excellent buffet breakfast and imaginative menus at dinner. Bar prices very good, the one downside being very poor wifi receptiom
I had my wedding at Popilia country Resort and from the moment that we started planning our wedding there, it felt like family. Our guests, coming from all over the world were amazed by this charming resort and the ambiance there, and were all delighted by the high quality and large variety of food offered at the Pool Buffet as long as at the seated dinner. It really felt like home! The staff is amazing, and works passionately taking care of every single detail. We came back 1 month later to spend a day at their relaxing wellness center and eat again at their exceptional restaurant, we had the same warm hospitality as the first day we met them. Highly recommended for a relaxing vacation and for weddings overall!
We travelled to this hotel as part of a tour group. The hotel setting though beautiful, is remote,so there is no opportunity to walk out on an evening an visit the local town. The "bungalow" rooms are set out over quite a large area with no thought given to allocation. A single lady down by the perimeter fence, a couple only metres from reception. It is a long walk uphill from the outer bungalows. Breakfast was good as it was for all the guests, BUT and it is a big BUT the dinner served to our group was very very average. First course was usually rigatoni or fusilli or rice. A small portion. The second course one night was two small pieces of roast pork loin cut so thin with a potato square. Another night it was sea bass fillet with a courgette topping. - very little fish. The only night they served a decent main course was the night we had tuna. The accompaniments to these main courses were a scattering of carrots another night a few potatoes. The desserts were ice cream , another night fruit cut so thin fanned out on the plate. A small piece of cake (tray bake) another night. If there was a wedding on then you were hurried through the courses - the staff were needed elsewhere. That does not excuse the abrupt attitude of the dining room staff . Also on our first morning at breakfast, not knowing where to sit we sat outside and we were rudely shouted at and told to go to our "allocated seating" . Obviously as a wedding venue it has everything to offer - as a base for visiting Calabria with a tour group - it has not.…
The hotel is beautifully presented in well maintained grounds with a lovely swimming pool. The rooms are cottage style and were very comfortable & very clean. The bathroom was equipped with shower gel body lotion etc. There wasn't a kettle in the room which was a shame. Although the situation is beautiful it is very remote. This was a disadvantage for us as we were on an organised tour which meant we were rather stranded in the evenings. There was a good choice of food at breakfast but dinner was rather disappointing. The meals were rather bland international food. This may have been down to the tour company we travelled with, rather than the hotel. The service was slow & rather chaotic. They seemed rather overworked. Not surprisingly for such an isolated place the wifi was poor. There were a lot of weddings whilst we were there, some of which were rather noisy. The staff were all friendly & hard working. The reception staff were very helpful.…
