Arrived late Sunday afternoon on Fathers Day, which clearly had been well celebrated by the locals. The Bar area itself was old style farmers boozer, slate floors and scrubbed tables, but hidden away was a very nice, comfortable dining room, which was a complete contrast. Our room was spacious and comfortable, well maintained and provided an excellent nights sleep. The...

Initiall reaction when we went into the public bar was that it was our worst nightmare - shouting locals jostled and pushed around. But luckily once we were shown to the restaurant it was a different world! Staff were really polite and good fun - nothing was too much trouble. We both thoroughly enjoyed our food and will definitely go...

And so to the White Lion for lunch with Charlie as it is one of the better watering holes. The garden is being done up and will be very pleasant when done. We were disappointed to see that it had received a 'terrible' review. On investigation it turns out that the reviewer had enjoyed 'cappuccino and chips' at a Little...

Breakfast (full English) was really good and the other food we had there was also good. We had a room above the restaurant which was very comfortable and...

From booking the table to leaving at the end of the evening, every aspect was fantastic. The service was attentive and friendly, the food excellent - the puddings heavenly, and nothing was too much trouble. I'd highly recommend.

Eight of us, all choosing something different that appealed and no one was disappointed. The owners are clearly putting a lot...

This pub was half way on our trip back from Devon on the old A303.. First easy to find, easy car parking, and good reception from the staff. We had room number 3 which is decorated just about right for the pubs age. Nice and clean and everything you need. It is a very good place to stay for one...
