Quiet village location, opposite the church. We stayed for two nights bed, breakfast and evening meal. Lovely room with comfortable bed. Great food - very generous portions (smallish menu, hence very good quality.) The cheeseboard was memorable! Rarely had such an excellent breakfast - even at very expensive hotels. Fresh eggs from happy hens in the garden! Welcoming, friendly hosts...

Have eaten at this pub twice in the last few months, both times the food has been outstanding and the service second to none. The first time there was a large group of us and it didn't detract from the quality of service. Certainly recommend stopping here for a bite to eat.

We stayed here over New Year and are so pleased to have found this lovely characterful Inn in this sleepy little Dorset village. There are only 3 rooms. Ours (Hardy) was very large, clean and with a good sized ensuite. Our room overlooked the Church and there is not much through traffic in the village so no outside noise to...

Simon and Maria made us very welcome. The standard of the room we had (Tess) was very high. The room is spacious, well lit and very comfortable. Apart from the king sized bed, there was a two seater sofa, chest of drawers, dressing table and stool and still room to swing a few cats around. Good power shower in a...

We visited the Chetnole during our stay in Sherborne. We found the place from other good reviews on Trip Advisor. I called to book a table and to check if we could bring the dog! we were told we could but we would have to sit in the 'snug' - that was perfect for us! upon arrival we were show...

My title comes from the Show of Hands song which deals with the changes to country life and Chetnole is really a part of deep Dorset, the quiet is like a blanket, the pastoral views in every shade of green are exquisite and the tractors and trailers so large they completely fill the narrow lanes The inn still has a...
