We stay there regurarily and just love this charming hotel. Don't miss their restaurant Belene. Great chefs offer excellent dishes (French standard) at reasonable prices and menu changes on seasonal basis. I always look forward to eat there and love every dish on the menu. Hotel has cozy and clean rooms, huge gym, smaller pool is loved by our daugher & super sauna facilities to relax. Strongly recommend for a stay in Slovakia. The overall hotel is just lovely and their staff is friendy and professional.
We were looking forward to this trip as we got it as the wedding/birthday present from our very good friends. We extended the original stay for 2 more nights. Overall, the stay was pleasant, a very nice room, comfy, spacious. No issues with booking the wellness and the number of people at the same time there was limited so it was positive. The food was really good, delicious, we tried almost every day something different. What was not so pleasant was the staff in several situations. Everyone might have a bad day but it should not be reflected towards customers. It happened to us that the waitress was not very kind and not smiling when talking to us and taking the order. Then, not all food was brought as we ordered and simple "sorry" was missing. On this level, we would expect better. Way to go. Thank you for the stay anyway.…
We stayed there for a two nights as a wedding guests. Room was super small. For two people it was not really enough for that amount of money. If you have by any chance one more bed in Standard room, then it is hard to manage. Wardrobe is super small, should be a bit bigger when it is mainly a wedding venue and accommodation for wedding guests. What I didnt get at all is, that there is NO space in the bathroom near the sink. Space where you can put your toiletries, make-up bag, especially if there are two people. What was also not really nice are the wooden „things“ in the hallway. You need to be really careful to don´t hurt yourself. Breakfast are good, you have plenty of choices and you can sit inside or outside. Staff was also nice, WiFi worked good, we could pay with the card. Nice swimming pool. Wedding food was delicious! And also staff during the cocktail hour was great, they keep our glasses full. A lot of greenery around Chateau, but there is nothing in the village so better to have a car and go to Žilina or other cities around.…
Perfect stay, it's calm, relaxing and tasty! The rooms are cozy, you have everything you need there. The surrounding area is green and calm, you may take a walk in the park, if you want to upgrade it, take a glass of wine and walk around admiring the amazing wood installations and listen to the birds and you'll feel totally relaxed. However, the best thing there is the food! Does not matter if you go down to the restaurant or order it to your room, it's simply delicious. Same goes for breakfast, lots of tasty things to choose from. A cook preparing eggs is really a nice touch. Just book the massage in advance, they're so good, it might be fully booked.
Beautiful property.Room was ok bit strange to have bathroom within the room otherwise no issues. I would say design could be more lux and castle feel but that is my taste.Spa is very good pool, saunas, jacuzzi. When you visit spa you have to sign in at reception they give u bracelet and plastic cup for the wather. They should find different alternative for those plastic cups looks so cheap and no eco friendly. Breakfast very poor!!! Cold eggs, bacon etc. When I asked why the eggs were cold they told me the manager took extension cord. I was speechless. Staff is dressed like in pub not in 4* hotel restaurant(jeans and trainers). They also have a students on training dressed like real servers. But unfortunatelly nobody train them how to serve. One night we went for dinner ordered Aperol Sprits and pork cheeks. On the table were placed 3 glases after we order nobody took them away not even after they served the Aperol. They brought us butter and bread, no butter plate or knife on the table how I suppose to eat the bread or spread the butter with my fingers? From 4* hotel this category I expect more that this poor service. In general staff is not very well trained. Other night we had better experience with one of the servers she did everything according the standards. In general hotel is nice but has very poor management!!!!!…
I have got very pleasant stay at the Chateau. The room is spacious, the bed looks great, like for royalty. Everything in the room is modern, and cosy. What I missed was a big mirror the corridor. Surrounding of the Chateau is very well maintained, big garden. In the village there is nothing, it is better to have a car. Otherwise you can stay only in The Chateau, which provides all services. Breakfast is typical continental:
What a place, superb clean exelent food outdoor of hotel pool and so on.. I was looking for place closed to Zilina bcs I was visiting my daughter and I find the best!!! But Château have superb staff as well thank you boss Ivana thanks to all your staff Katka Daniel Marek Lucia Andrea TOMO Stanko terminator Natalia All receptionist sorry if I missing some names and finally special thanks to Star of this hotel Matej!!! I will be back sure and definitely recommend this place to everybody!! DAKUJEM CHÂTEAU GBELANY!!! Jasne :)
Everything was fine, nothing to complain about. I was expecting a typical business 4* hotel, but it was something more. The renovation was made in modern style but with a sense for a detail. The room (116) was spacious, very clean, calm, comfy with a big and comfy bed. By the arrival, there was a smell of the pool air, because the pool is located under the room, but fresh air solved it immediately. The balcony is very big with table and chairs, so you can enjoy a very nice view to the park and feel like somewhere in the woods. It was very relaxing and enjoyable. The breakfast was fresh and rich, everybody can find something to eat. The small gallery in the attic with the views from the upper tower was a very nice surprise too. The bathroom was big and clean. The wellness is very enjoyable, one of the best I have experienced in hotels like this. Even though wellness is open to the public (in certain timetable and for certain charge), it did not trouble at all (at the time of my use). Absolute satisfaction, would definitely come back.…
Hotel looks nice, and I thought it will be a nice stay for my family. Before checking in we wanted to see available rooms of different categories, so we could choose the best room for us. We like specious bright rooms. We choose honeymoon suit with sofa for the kids. After checking in, unpacking and getting ready to go to the swimming pool the receptionist told us that we need to change the room! I was disappointed with the vision of changing room with my three children ready for the pool. They showed us two rooms other categories, but we didn’t like both of them... They told us we need to change the room because of technical problems, but everything was perfect in the room, during our conversation I found out that they just need this room in the morning !!! We were angry, we have packed our stuff and left this hotel!…
A completely modernised 18th Century Chateau in a small village outside Zilina. We had a lovely suite. The dining room was better than most meals in Slovakia. The real attraction was the care that had been put into the renovation and the surrounding park. We would have stayed longer except that there were more attractive towns than Zilina in the east of the country. Very attentive staff. Nice swimming pool. Unlike the last commentator, our room was beautifully air-conditioned (outside it was sweltering) but it took us a while to locate the controls and switch it on.
