A delightful stay. I really felt I was staying with friends. And the food was first class-local and innovative.

The entire family Clive, Maki, and Kei are great hosts and extremely well traveled and cultured. Clive is a wizard in the kitchen and makes the entire cooking process effortless. Maki also makes the front of the house look easy and the process is all invisible as a guest. Most impressive of all is that they are running this successful... More

We spent a wonderful week in November 2009 with our little baby (one year at that time). Location is wonderful and very peacefull. Ideal place to rest and have a good moment with our family. But more than that, we felt like Clive & Maki's own family ! And Kei was a brother for our baby and took care about... More

My wife and I visited Las Encinas at the beginning of June. We've stayed at many different places and we enjoyed this stay as much as anywhere. As has been said in many reviews Clive and Maki are fantastic hosts. Theirs is a low key, unforced hospitality where nothing is too much trouble. The area is great for walking or... More

Two nights at Finca Las Encinas was a moment in time I will never forget. The warm greeting of owners, Clive and Maki made you feel immediately at home. This was then followed by the sweet faces of their smiling five year old, Cei, and two adorable dogs. From that moment, I knew I would be most comfortable spending time... More

I am fortunate to live in Rural Spain in an old Rustic house which I am restoring and stumbled across Clive and Maki's website. I thought that this would make an interesting and welcoming break and an intoduction to a new part of Spain that both my partner and I have not visited before. "Finca Las Encinas" is absolutely true... More

Cookery course great and informative whilst learning about the Moorish influence from Clive your host chef in his kitchen. With your own created delicious dinner to follow. If you think you can cook - think again. Our 3-night stay with lessons each evening from Clive has changed the way I think about our eating and cooking habits. We learned how to make some gorgeous sauces, baked fish in a flash, stuffed chicken breasts and restaurant-style desserts, all with minimum fuss and clear instructions. Clive's wife Maki who... Charming restored farmhouse situated in a tiny village, about 20 minutes from Iznajar and near to several beautiful towns where olive oil production is the main activity. Great location for exploring the region. Clive and Maki are wonderful hosts who made us feel at home. They are full of suggestions and tips for exploring the region. Make sure you take... More
