We stayed one night with sally our springer spaniel. We found the beds a bit uncomfortable. Our room was clean and although breakfast was nice we thought it was quite a small portion could have been a bit larger.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We always welcome constructive criticism and are always looking to upgrade rooms whenever we can. Glad you enjoyed the breakfast.

Very pleasant room with lovely warm welcome and superb evening meal. Village was beautifully quiet and after a comfortable night's sleep we were raring to start our adventure along the Coleridge Way. Delicious homemade marmalade with breakfast was a special treat!

Thank you very much for your review. We get many people staying with us at the start (and finish) of the Coleridge Way and we are just a few hundred yards from Coleridge Cottage - the beginning of the 51 mile walk. 'Hope the breakfast set you up for the day. Good luck and happy walking!

Nice room, helpful hosts, good breakfast, very clean, pretyy village and lovely countryside. Only negatives: the ensuite bathroom was small and the "four poster" bed didn't add anything in terms of character and blocked the view of the TV!

Thank you for taking the time to send us this message. It would be nice if we could enlarge our bathrooms but our Edwardian house doesn't allow for this. When we next refurbish we'll have a look at moving the television.

We stayed here last w/e for a wedding in the village. It was exactly what we needed. Once we had checked in, we could come and go as we pleased. The afternoon wedding meant that we needed to change after lunch, which wasn't a problem, and we could let ourselves in late after the party. We came with two dogs,...

Very nice of you to comment on our B&B. We try to make our dog guests as welcome as our human ones. We like the coffee too.

We stayed here probably 12 years ago and loved it then, when Lyn, Ian and Ozy had not long started their venture. We were supposed to stay last year but had to cancel at the last minute due to illness so this time around was extra special! From start to finish Lyn, Ian and Ozy make your stay feel like...

Thank you for this. We try to home make all that we can - including the dog biscuits. Try not to leave it another 12 years!

We stayed here for the first night of a 14 night tour Along The Coleridge Way. In Nether Stowey I stayed with Lyn and Ian at The Old Cider House. Nether Stowey is a village that’s clearly very proud of its Coleridge heritage, and Lyn and Ian are a big part of that community. Before my tour began I joined...

We are so lucky to have the Coleridge connection in the village and we cannot thank you enough for coming to play for us at the launch of the Coleridge Way Companion Guide. Catch up with you soon no doubt.

On arrival we were made to feel very welcome. This is one of those unique places that manages to make you feel at home straight away, this is due in part to the warm welcome, but also down to the friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Ian and Lynne are extremely knowledgeable about the area and are happy to suggest places of...

We really enjoy our themed evenings and the Moroccan night allowed us to practice our skills after attending a cookery course in Marrakesh a while back. We look forward to seeing you again soon - let us know and we'll try out another international evening.

Having changed my reservation from two nights to one I was told that the price was increasing for my remaining night from £65 to £75, at this point I decided to cancel. It was not made clear to me on the phone but that was going to cost me the £67 they had already taken from my account when I...

Whilst we never want to receive a poor review this individual allows us to state very clearly our stance on those capricious guests (almost always wedding attendees) who book and then cancel. This guest booked a two-night, bank holiday weekend stay some months ago and received a discount for booking two nights. She then decided to cancel one of those...

Welcoming B&B clean room (ours was poet themed owing to nearby Coleridge’s Cottage) with a comfortable bed, sadly we stayed for only one night. We ate dinner on Saturday night with Ian, Lynne, Ozy and the other guests and the home made food was fantastic. My husband also really enjoyed the own brew beer. Ian recommended a great walk for...

We had a really lovely stay at The Old Cider House. Ian & Lynne, Ozy (The Dog) are really warm and lovely people/Animal. The Rooms are Clean ,Fresh and Comfortable. They do dinners on certain nights or you can go to the pub for dinner. There is WIFI but they ask for a small donation forwards the useage. I'm disabled...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We run the sort of guesthouse that we would want to stay at. That's why we cook good simple food, buy locally and have our own microbrewery. We are relaxed, un-stuffy and welcome dogs. A great place for walking, mountain biking, sightseeing and, above all, relaxing. So, turn off the Blackberry and have a good time. ... more   less
