Where to start, we had a balcony room, plenty of space and very clean - stunning views across Runswick Bay and to wake up to a beautiful sunrise from your bed - wow! Breakfast was a perfect start to the day, help yourself and order freshly cooked breakfast from a menu choice. Food was excellent, good selection and plenty of...

The hotel itself has been added to & added to, decor appears a little "tired" in places. The staff however were great! Very friendly & welcoming. The food was ok in the evening, breakfast choice of salmon & scrambled egg was disappointing as not much salmon to be seen, mixed in with egg. Husband had the fry up which was...

Runswick is (and I hesitate to say this) a hidden gem, 8 miles North of Whitby, it is a maze of winding alley ways with red roofed cottages, the beautiful beach is easily accessed from a carpark a hundred yards away. The Cliffmount Hotel is in such a position, as the name suggests, to view the bay and surrounding countryside,...

Following a disastrous first night in a different location the night before, we were warmly welcomed to the Cliffmount by Gary. Our 3 night stay included lovely views, fantastic food, friendly and accommodating staff. The only downside was the all night noise from the occupants (who were fossil hunters apparently, doing fossily things) above us, which obviously had nothing to...

We visited the Cliffemount hotel for one night in February 2017. The hotel was very quiet but the staff were friendly and attentive. We stayed with our dog and were given a room overlooking Runswick Bay, fabulous. The room was a good size, a great shower, the bed was very comfortable and everything was very clean. The TV was a...

Highly recommended. Stayed for just one night in a premium room with our dog whilst walking along the Cleveland Way. Room was large with a commanding view of the beautiful Runswick Bay. Very welcoming and comfortable after a long walk. Enjoyed a good dinner and breakfast in the restaurant. Not surprisingly it was very quiet in February but the service...

Looking forward to a coffee overlooking over Runswick as I was thinking of booking the hotel for my parents anniversary weekend. Outside was a blackboard saying coffees served , I called into reception no one there but I could see staff through a window and they could see me , they must have been having a break or meeting they...

Loved the location, our room had the most beautiful view overlooking the bay. A very steep walk down to the beach and back, not one for the less mobile, a car park is available at the bottom so helps if needed. Well worth the effort though. Very little to do and quiet which was perfect. The food at the hotel...
