We travelled to Ratua for one week in October with our 9yr old daughter. The island is small and surrounded by calm waters and nice reefs. This was our first visit to Vanuatu having visited Fijian islands extensively (incl. Malolo, Mana, Castaway, Blue Lagoon Beach Resort, Paradise Cove and Octopus Island). Although its a tough decision I've got to say... More

This place has a wonderful atmosphere, the villas are divine and the management are super friendly and helpful. It does need some money spent on it though: the wooden statues in Bear cottage were broken and made a bad first impression. The games room is full of broken or incomplete games and the pool table is a wreck, which is... More

My husband and I stayed at Ratua for 3 nights in July. What a wonderful place! I adored the villas, rustic, yet luxurious, ( we were in ' Deer')and all the other buildings. The beach was just magical, the best beach swimming ever! And as for the food! - Fantastic. Wonderful views too, so peaceful. The staff were lovely and... More

What an amazing place! It was like stepping back in time. This is a very special place. The rooms are little houses each named after an animal. They each have their own little private beach and yard and the privacy is awesome. It is like stepping back in time to an old village - no TV, air conditioner or fly screens.... More

We have just returned home from a 12 night stay at Ratua. A wonderful experience. We would highly recommend this destination for families who value a resort that connects comfort with the natural beauty of the region and its people. If you are after an air conditioned villa with infinity pools and chocolate fountains at your buffet go elsewhere. This... More

We have just been to Ratua for our 5th time. It's not easy getting there from NZ but well worth the extra effort and each time we have stayed 12-14 days. We love it! It's our 5th trip back which possibly says it all, particularly as we are well travelled and have many places we could choose from . It's... More

Fantastic 4 night stay on Ratua Island. Would absolutely go back for more! One of the best resorts we've been to. The entire experience was magical. From the nighttime boat ride into the resort and the welcome to the send off when we left it was everything we expected and more. The setting is fantastic, the rustic wood villas shipped... More

Dear Robert, It was a pleasure to have welcomed you here and I am glad that you had an absolute time at Ratua. Indeed, coming to this little secluded island is truly an adventure. I'd love to keep this amazing resort a secret especially for us, but as profits go to the Ratua Foundation, I feel obliged to share. We decided this is the best resort we've ever stayed at (and we've been to a few). It is an absolutely stunning location with plenty to do. We particularly loved swimming with the horses. The... Stayed 4 days with our 3 children (7,5&infant). Blown away from the moment we arrived, the most beautiful experience. Children had a real 'back to nature' holiday and accommodation in 'Fish Village' was a delight. Food & staff were great. Excursion to school and maternity centre in nearby Malo Island is highly recommended. If you email the resort in advance... More
