Very good location - it’s a 10-minute walk to the Lower Park, the same to the entrance to Alexandria Park (from 8 to 10 am, admission is free, by the way).
The room is spacious, the breakfast is excellent, varied, buffet style.
On the territory of the hotel there is a cool restaurant “Duck and Drake” - I recommend it, tasty, atmospheric, the prices are high for me, but it’s worth it.
I took off a star for the Spa, there is no shallow pool for children, and the water in the jacuzzi was too hot. For children 4+ and adults, I think the SPA is excellent. My husband swam in the morning and went to the sauna.
Thanks to the hotel staff for the birthday cake and card, it was very nice to receive such a compliment upon check-out.
Check-in at the hotel is from 15:00, but the girl from the reception called us already at 11 and informed us that the room was ready for check-in. Special thanks for this.
I definitely recommend the hotel for accommodation, especially if you don’t have a car and came specifically to visit Peterhof.

The hotel is located on the banks of the Holguin pond, consisting of 6 small buildings connected by an atrium. Nice, comfortable, clean hotel. Breakfast buffet: huge selection of hot dishes, slices, juices, smoothies, omelets, pastries, fruit. Breakfasts are delicious and varied. Live music plays on weekends. The restaurant "Duck and Spleen" in the same hotel has many delicious dishes made of duck, an exhibition of plates signed by famous restaurant visitors.
Next to the hotel is the Cathedral of Peter and Paul, it is very impressive. Close to the hotel entrance to the Upper Garden and within walking distance of the Lower Park and Peterhof Palaces. I will mention separately the quality equipment of rooms for the disabled - all the obligatory requirements have been met, convenience is maximum.

We had a family vacation, 2 rooms for a young couple, standard and standard plus for parents. There was no choice of rooms when booking, but these categories are quite worthy, especially the standard plus with a view of Olgiye Pond. From check-in with the administrators until the end of our stay at the hotel, we had only pleasant impressions. A good spa, if you don’t take into account that it’s a little crowded due to the holidays, excellent underground parking, a good breakfast with scrambled eggs to order, champagne and a pianist at the piano, and of course the best location opposite the palace and park ensemble of Peterhof. We had a pleasant dinner at the Duck and Drake restaurant. So we recommend the hotel and hope to visit again!

Hotel for 1 night, good breakfast, spa area is very very small, swimming pool is a puddle, one warm sauna and for a maximum of 4 people, changing rooms are generally hidden somewhere on another floor, shared showers (men and women wash together), room for dogs booth. The location is quite good, you can walk around, Peterhof in the palm of your hand. The restaurant "Duck and Drake" is disgusting, everything is expensive, the portions are just microscopic and the food is not very good. We won't go a second time.

It's great to see how a long-time favorite place only gets better over time! I’ll only tell you about the pleasant updates, since I’ve already written a positive review about everything. New interesting dishes have appeared on the Duck&Drake menu; I especially liked the escolar, salad with arugula and shrimp, and ginger lemonade. Stylish renovation in the restaurant, looks very fresh. We also relaxed at the SPA; the aqua zone now offers warm tea, and, like the restaurant, a nice renovation with moss elements. I went for a manicure/pedicure with Elena - as usual, everything was great; new varnishes have appeared and now after a pedicure the feet are moisturized with a scrub - nice!) I also attended a body massage (30 minutes) with master Karina. Everything went perfectly. During these two days we have been filled with fresh air and are returning to the city with renewed vigor, thank you!

Excellent hotel in the historical centre of Peterhof. All attractions are within walking distance. Well-meaning staff. A breakfast buffet won't leave any gourmet hungry. Live music in the restaurant. Second floor room with high ceiling and lake view we liked it. Kettle in room with paper cups, mini fridge. Bathrobe, slippers. Pool, Jacuzzi and sauna on level. General impression - recommended!

New Peterhof Hotel gets service wrong on so many levels it is hard to know where to start. However, you can start by reflecting carefully before ever staying here. My two days at this hotel were the worst of any I had during a 3 week holiday in St Petersburg. I could not wait to leave. The odyssey of "service" at the New Peterhof began at the time of check in, when they attempted to restrict my free use of the spa (which consists of a swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna). They told me that, based on my "class" of room, I could only use the spa from 7:30 until 10 in the morning, which is when breakfast is being served. I don't want to use a spa in the early morning and I don't want to rush through breakfast in order to do so. Further, my booking (through Expedia.com) had not referenced any such restrictions. I refused to pay to use the spa during other hours of the day (which is what they were proposing) and told them that I would prefer simply to return to St Petersburg rather than to stay there at all. However the room had already been pre-paid and of course they did not want to refund. Finally, after an argument of some 20 minutes, they agreed to honor the terms of my Expedia booking. But you know how it is. Once you have had to fight with a hotel, you really don't want what they have to offer and are uncomfortable in the place. I checked in, though I was unhappy, and figured I would just get on with it. My room was fine (nothing special) but the climate control did not work properly and an engineer had to be called (twice). There was also a hair in my bathtub on arrival, which is unacceptable in a 4 star hotel (actually in any hotel). I went down to the spa that afternoon and the place was completely empty, except for one other woman, who was not even staying at the hotel. So why use of the spa was such a big issue is really a mystery to me. The spa is nice and very clean and has a very large pool. However one would expect there to be nice chaise longues so that one can stretch out and relax, but only chairs and foot stools are provided, which were not particularly comfortable. I figured I would have a glass of wine afterwards, as I had been given a coupon at the time of check in for a free welcome drink. The idea is clearly to lure one into the restaurant so that one will actually dine there, which I likely would indeed have done had the coupon been good for wine. But again there were bizarre restrictions, which I really found quite offensive. The bartender told me I could have a soft drink, tea coffee or beer, but that the "welcome drink" did not include wine, which did not feel very welcoming. I had a coffee and I left. I cannot comment on the food at Duck and Drake (their restaurant) but I can tell you that breakfast was terrible. It was a buffet (as one might expect) but you could tell they were cutting corners. The quality of the food was really quite cheap (things like processed meat you would not serve at home and no smoked fish at all). Now what four star hotel in the country of Russia does not offer smoked fish at breakfast? They loaded the buffet instead with low cost items (a lot of eggs, breads and dairy), which is not the quality one expects in a four star hotel. My worst experience, though, was with room service. Someone in the hotel had the brilliant idea of bringing me a bowl of apples, I gather as some kind of freebie that goes with my "class" of room. That, of course, would be very nice, if it were done at a normal hour. Instead someone called me at 10:40 night, waking me up out of a very deep sleep, then hung up when I asked who it was. Fifteen minutes later, someone banged on the door, which actually rather scared me, as a hotel is not a particularly secure environment and in Russia there is a lot of crime. I discovered that this was room service, delivering complimentary fruit, at 11pm at night, when guests could well be asleep. Now who in their right mind does that? The end result was that I did not sleep well, and was exhausted the next day at Peterhof, because once I was abruptly awoken I could not get back to sleep. I have never been so happy to check out of a place and I will never go back. I tried to get cash from the hotel cash machine just as I was leaving, but even that had broken down. In the ordinary course when staying at a spa hotel, I would have purchased other services. For example, I would have had a massage and also had my hair blown dry, and would also have had some meals, but I felt they did not deserve my business, and so I took it elsewhere.

This is a modern and confortable hotel. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms are rather big. I stayed in a double room (single use) and the room had more than 20 square meters. Moreover, they are well isolated and you can sleep well at night. The hotel also includes a spa (that I didn't use anyway). The hotel is in front of the Peterhof Palace and gardens, a must-see in St Petersburg! The hotel is located in Peterhof, located some 30-40 minutes from downtown St Petersburg by bus, so it's not the most convenient location to visit St Petersburg. It's however great for having a meeting or conference (my case) in a relaxed environment. There are many gardens and a nice lake just 50m from the hotel. All in all, a nice and pleasant stay.

in janurary 2012 during the russian cristmas i spent with my sister 8 nights and this hotel. The staff was very attentive and helpful. the breakfast buffet is very varied and included omelettes, boiled eggs, vegatables. fruits in the holiday even fresh ananas and mellons, cereals of many kinds, nuts, cheese of many kinds, pancakes, a veriety of cakes, hot oat porrige, blintzes, a salt pie with ham and cheeseand juices and hot bereveges.the hotel has a spa with different treatements starting with 25 euro, a pool, jacuzzi and sauna which are free from 8 oclock to 10:30 am and afterwards it cost 10 euro for 2 hours. Bath robbes and towels are supplied on spot free of charge. the rooms are comfortable this is a new well maintained hotel. I stayed at an attic room in which over the bad the ceiling is low so you have to watch your head. The room has no open window and a central heatin as well as a personal air conditioner and a fan in the bath room. Electric cattle is supplied upon request in the hotel lobbly . The room contains a safe. In front of the hotel there is public transportation by private minivans or public busses to st peterburg. it takes about 40 minutes to arrive to a metro station called avtovo from you can reach every spot in st perteburg. the ride cost to 1.5 euro. very good ratio of cost to service. it is located in front of the fountains and the cathedral.

I think so. If you apply for a visa and you get it there is no reason why you shouldn't travel. I worked for a US company in Moscow during the height of the sanctions and did not feel any ill-will of my Russian colleagues towards the US. Mostly incomprehension as to why Russia was being singled out as the great culprit. I took taxis and went to various shops and there was no unwillingness to speak English (where they could) or particular anti-anglo-saxon sentiment. Every citizen is not responsible for his government's policies, and most Russians understand this (from their perspective too). I'm not suggesting, of course, that you go around shouting "long live the US and f*ck Putin" in the streets.
