OK my partner booked here as a joint birthday and valentines weekend away, we are not ones for fancy hotels and are quite happy to camp but as it's February we decided to book a hotel and this seemed perfect but we were left dissapointed as truthfully it is more a B + B , the dining room is not...

Stayed here 12-14th Feb for a couple of days walking with friends. We were all very impressed with size of rooms, good facilities and we had 2 peaceful nights sleep. Staff were very friendly. The continental breakfast was amazing! They laid out just about everything and we could take loads of food with us on our climb. By far the...

All things are relative and I wish some reviewers would remember this. Talgarth is a small town (a village really) slightly off the beaten track and has few shops, 4 pubs and a barely a handful of places to stay. The Castle Hotel is a lively (well on a Friday/Saturday evening) pub with rooms. Despite this room 5 (the loft)...

I stayed for a night. The owner/landlady was welcoming. Had to go through a narrow staircase to the room. Good size room, well decorated. Good shower. Small TV. No fridge in the room. The double bed was made of two single mattresses leaving a ridge in the middle! Wifi in the room was ok. Continental breakfast. Nothing to shout about,...

The staff were very friendly and accommodating. No smell from the fish and chip shop. Room was lovely and modern with all the essentials.( stayed in room 1) Overall, enjoyed the stay and would definitely return.

This place was a big dissapointment. The reviews and photos do it much more justice than it deserves. It is not a hotel just a pub/chip shop with rooms - vastly overpriced The room we were shown was spacious but was above the chippy and smelt of frying fat. The car park was busy with people waiting for their fish...

I would say that this is not really an Hotel more like an Inn with letting rooms, but still a pleasant stay, cost wise, above average but our stay need coincide with music festive in Brecon so this may have been the reason. We stayed at the castle hotel while visiting good friends who live in Talgarth for 2 nights....

The family that runs the business is super friendly as are the staff. They have obviously spent money on the hotel and rooms but the stay was let down by our rooms not being serviced for the three nights we stayed. Out of approx 7 led lights in the room/bathroom only 2 were working. There were three collapsible beds stored...

What a lovely place to stay , very clean , friendly , courteous staff. Nickola who was deputising for the owner was so friendly and accommodating . Before we visited we,d read bad reports on the continental breakfast , but how anyone can complain at the extensive choice baffles me. The fish shop was top dollar and we thoroughly enjoyed...
