Firstly Middleham House is in The village of Carlton not Middleham, that said it is a perfect location and a wonderful place to relax and see the dales. The room is spacious light and cosy with an uninterrupted view of the dale that defies description it is so good. The service and food were also outstanding and we recommend this...

The room was lovely, everything you would need. Fantastic views and lovely breakfast. Excellent standard of a B&B. Warm welcome from the owner. What more could you ask for. Although called Middleham House, don't forget its in the next village of Carlton.

Four of us were cycling the Dales cycleway with four friends as back up. The four cyclists stayed here and the others at the Foresters pub. Liz accommodated our bikes by moving her car out of her garage. The rooms were spotless and ours was at the end with double aspect views over the hills and down the village street....

Glad you enjoyed your visit to Carlton, I thought you all looked ready to do the whole trip again, in spite of being at the end of your long ride - it must have been the relaxing air of Carlton!

Beautiful location in the Yorkshire Dales in a typical Dales village with lovely stone cottages and great views from the bedrooms (even though it was a miserable summers day!). The rooms were clean (if not huge) and had all the facilites you would need for a stay in the countryside, and our room had a shower (no bath sadly!). Lovely...

I am hopeless at planning ahead and wanted to book a room for the Saturday the night before so I was thrilled when we had a reply from Liz saying she could fit us in for the night. Not only could she accommodate us but she would also book us a table at the local pub! We were welcomed warmly...

I echo everything that has been said before. Middleham House has everything and is a wonderful place to stop! 2 friends and I stayed during a cold and snowy Easter. The house was warm and pleasant and the welcome equally so. The food, ale and friendship in the community pub is seldom found nowadays. Just a perfect break! Ian McIntosh

The rooms and bathroom were large and have all that you need to make your stay enjoyable, the views are breathtaking even when it snowed and it is very peaceful. The breakfast was so delicious and fresh a great way to start the day, there's a...

Six of us stayed to catch up with a friend for his birthday. The owner was most obliging and nothing was too much trouble. All the extras in the rooms were much appreciated and the breakfast was exceptional. We will definitely stay again.

We have just returned from a four night break at Middleham house and wanted to spread the word about this absolutely lovely B&B in beautiful Coverdale. It is everything a B&B should be, warm and welcoming in an unspoilt village surrounded by breath taking country side equally enjoyable by foot or by car. Our bedroom was so attractive, very tastefully...

Large, comfortable room with views on two sides was a highlight of this quiet B&B. The little extras in the room such as a corkscrew and wineglasses meant that we didn't want for much more. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice and with the option of a large English breakfast which I can recommend. We even had views...
