Popa Paradise is an Adults-Only (18+) Clothing Optional beach hotel located on a stunning island called Isla Popa in the Bocas del Toro archipelago, off the Panamanian coast in the Caribbean Sea. We are located about 30 minutes away from Bocas del Toro by boat. Stay with us for an unforgettable vacation where you can relax, snorkel in beautiful clear water and visit the amazing outer islands. Our chef creates a spectacular, tasty, unique and healthy menu and can cater to vegetarians and vegans, which is all included in our all inclusive rate. We have a large range of activities and excursions from diving, fishing, zip lines to the spectacular Zapatilla islands marine park or simply relax by our swimming pool and enjoy a Popa Paradise cocktail at our swim up bar, enjoy a massage in the spa or take a walk on one of our stunning beaches. Our new beach bar and restaurant "Rosie's" is great for cool drinks on the beach all day and at night beach BBQs, bonfires, and occasionally live music under the stars. Our dedicated team of professionals will take care of your every need and ensure you have a memorable stay at our boutique resort. We look forward to meeting you at Popa Paradise - barefoot luxury!

I just returned from an amazing stay at this amazing location! The communication was clear and informative and travel to the resort was made very easy as a result. You are picked up from the a well know dock in Bocas Town and from there the adventures begin. Popa island is one of the most remote in the archipelago but does not lack in incredible beauty and opportunities for adventure. Upon rounding the corner of the resort, you are met with a beautiful sand beach that is guarded by a coral reef several hundred feed off shore resulting in swimmable Beach with calm waters compared to others on the islands. Once you arrive, all your bags are taken care of and you are met with a fresh coconut water directly from the source. Regardless of the room you choose, everything is in close walking distance. Several of the Casitas are literally steps from the beach. The air-conditioned rooms keep you extremely comfortable when you are in the room.
Kayaks, snorkle gear, body boards and some fishing equipment is provided for guest use. There is a pool and ping pong tables as well puzzles and a large TV with a good selection of movies. There was a TV in the room as well but it wasn't even a consideration. There is so much to do, the only time the room was used was for showers and sleeping. The resort offers an incredible selection of tours and trips from tours of the Zapatillas to Chocolate Farm and even trips to town for shopping or ATV rides. Take the time to enjoy the pool and swim up bar. The staff kept drinks in hand and were very nice and accommodating.
The meals were delicious and offered a variety of options. During my booking, I was asked about dietary restrictions and needs as well. The coco bread at breakfast was delicious and fresh! Options like fresh fish and lobster made dinner quite a treat!
You could not ask for a more relaxed and beautiful setting. If serenity and an escape are what you are seeking....this is the place!
Will definitely be back!!

We had a wonderful 4 day stay at Popa Paradise over New Years. It was one of the most relaxing friendly vacations I ever had. Everyone made us feel welcome, from the person that ferried us to the island from Bocas del Toro to the group that waved us off from the pier when we left. The owners, Vince and Rosie were always available. The WI-FI in the main building met our needs and it was a relief not to be surrounded by ringing cell phones, it was a true get away. Our lodging was great, nicely furnished and comfortable with views of the beach from every window. The lush tropical surroundings were a joy to walk through every day. The pool was refreshing and the lounge chairs so comfortable it was hard to leave them to get ready for dinner. The staff took care of us, our glass was never empty, and the food was well prepared. Meals were always al fresco and a great surprise was fresh caught lobster for dinner one night (and there was no upcharge for that treat). We took advantage of the pool table, dart board and ping pong table and realized how bad we were at all three, but a lot of fun. We are already looking at the calendar and trying to plan another visit.

We had a great 3 night stay at Popa Paradise. Vince and Rosie were welcoming and did everything to make sure we had what we needed. They went out of their way to make sure our vegetarian daughters had plenty to eat that pleased them. Service was kind and attentive. The property is rustic and naturally beautiful. We had our own little air conditioned house with a spectacular view of the ocean. For our family vacation, we did not want a CO (clothing optional) resort but booked so late that this was our only available option during the very busy holiday week. It ended up being fine for us as our daughters are over 18 and we did not encounter nudity close up - most of our activities were off the property during the day and CO is only allowed at the pool and beach. The resort would benefit greatly from discontinuing the CO policy as the property is a perfect place for families and I am sure CO keeps many families from booking there. Additionally the pool was not sufficiently chlorinated and had some algae growing in it. Consequently we only swam in the ocean. Luckily the private beach and ocean were marvelous. There are kayaks available for free use on the beach, snorkel equipment and fishing rods and plenty of games, puzzles and a pool table to fill your evening with activities.
I highly recommend this property if you don't mind it being CO and prefer ocean to pool swimming.

We appreciate the detailed and complementary review, which has made the point very well that textile, unclothed and in-between guests coexist peacefully at our resort. It is large enough that if the amount of skin showing makes a guest uncomfortable, there is always somewhere else to be. We will not be discontinuing the CO policy - there are literally thousands of All-Inclusive beach resorts that cater to families, and very few offerings for naturists and nudists. We appreciate the comment regarding our vegetarian offerings. We can accommodate most food restrictions, and appreciate a heads-up before arrival so we can stock the kitchen appropriately. Regarding the pool chlorination, we strive to keep levels sufficient to suppress algae growth, but not so much as to make the water unpleasant-smelling and irritating to the eyes, like many municipal and hotel pools. After many years of experience, we usually have the balance just right, and get many complements for doing so. On the other hand, our beach is over 1,000 feet long, very private, and great for swimming; however, I would point out that the ocean contains more then 35 billion metric tons of algae. We constantly strive to improve, and appreciate this feedback. Vince, on behalf of all of us here in Paradise

Only rating a 5 because 10 is not an option. We came here with 18 people for a wedding and Vince and Rosie bent over backwards to ensure we had nothing but a comfortable, worry free stay, and did everything in their power to help make all the requests that come with a big group, a wedding group no less, a reality. They helped plan the events of the wedding, as well as took care of ALL the decorations (this included hand building the bamboo pergola....), and made sure all the events went off without a hitch. In addition to the owners, the staff were incredibly friendly, and always made sure we had drinks in our hands, and food on our plates.
The amenities: housing, main lodge, pool area, swim up bar, etc., we're very well kept, comfortable, well stocked, and cleaned daily. The views from the large beach area where picturesque, with plenty of beach activities to keep one occupied. Overall I cannot rate this resort high enough, one of the best resort experiences I've had, and I cannot wait to go back!

What a great group! Popa Paradise is an excellent choice for a destination wedding, and this group of friends and family really made the most of their three night "takeover" and beach ceremony. We heard that two of the party announced their engagement right after the festivities, and are hopeful they choose our hotel for the big day, or the honeymoon! We made a bunch of new friends, and really hope to see ya'll again in the future. Vince, Rosie, volunteers John and Irena, and all of the team here on Isla Popa

I am a very experiment and exigent traveller. I always like private and exclusive experiences during my vacations and that’s the reason why I choose the Hotel Popa Paradise in Isla Popa (Bocas Del Toro). This hotel is an Adult only consisting in nine beautiful cottages, most facing the ocean and really far from everything and true exclusive. Not a problem because the transfers from and to the airport are offered. All activities and visits to other islands can be made private at a moderate rate. When we came to the Hotel, we had a great and warm welcome from the owners Vince and Rosie as well as from the hotel staff. I consider that the fact that the resort was opened just for me and my wife was a great demonstration of consideration for us because gave us the possibility to visit the beautiful island of Popa and keep our plans and expectations. We appreciated that very much. Then all was very well organized, the owners always present to help us with everything. Thanks to a private boat and great captain Filipino, we could visit Bastimientos old town, red frog beach and the amazing Cayo Zapatilla for snorkelling in the middle of corals and hundreds of coloured tropical fish. Our villa was amazing, excellent view, excellent AC, comfortable, good amenities and over the beach with safe access. We enjoyed kayak in the sea, provided by the hotel as well as all snorkelling material. The beach was safe and the water clear and warm. The swimming pool area was very beautiful and big. The pool bar was amazing with excellent cocktails made by Bernardino, a very nice person with gentle mood and a good talk about Panamese life. The meals were fantastic with good quality and a personalized menu. We ate the most local fresh fish choosed by us cooked in the way we liked. In conclusion: the hotel was a real paradise and very romantic too. Owners Vince and Rosie are amazing persons and the staff was very nice too. The food and drinks was really excellent. A destination to repeat for sure! And if you think going in Covid era, it’s the best: private beaches, great for social distance and all outdoors activities could be private. For me, a great traveller was an incredible experience. I will give the maximum evaluation to this hotel.
Pedro Dionisio ( from Portugal ).

We stayed at Popa Paradise 5 days in April 2023. This is really a paradise on Earth with the most beautiful beach you can think of, perfect ocean front cottages and excellent pool with swim-up bar. Rosie and Vince (owners) and their crew did what was possible to make this an unforgettable week, and the chef presented meals with variation and excellent taste every day. The CO option is brilliant; no uncomfortable wet swimsuits between the frequent dips in sea and pool. The All Inclusive option likewise; no unnecessary paperwork in bar and restaurant during stay. If life on beach and by poolside gets boring you can explore the nearby coastline (scenic secluded beaches to the north) by kayaks; seeing no other people for the whole day, or join an entertaining excursion to the "chocolate farm" on a nearby island. The cottages are equipped with AC, but we chose to switch this off and sleep with open terrace doors listening to the waves on the beach instead of the AC noise. All in all a perfect place to spend a week - if you are looking for peace and quiet – and barefoot luxury in paradise surroundings.

I truly cannot say enough good things about this resort, and the owners Vince and Rosie. I came here as the wedding officiant with 16 other people for a friends wedding and these two made it an experience I will never forget. From setting up a private ocean front pergola for the ceremony, to the delicious meals daily, the beachfront campfires, to accommodating our groups large than average beer/liquor appetite, Popa Paradise bent over backwards to make sure we had everything we needed, and wanted for nothing. If I could give 10 stars I would, book this place with confidence! I cannot wait to come back someday :)

Popa Paradise Resort checked all of the boxes for us! Woke up each morning in our beach side casita to a spectacular sunrise with world famous Zapatilla Islands on the horizon. We spent many unforgettable hours kayaking to deserted white sand beaches and snorkeling beautiful coral reefs. Each afternoon we lounged by the pool and drank bottomless custom cocktails at the swim up bar. Both the food and attentive service at breakfast, lunch and dinner exceeded expectations. Saving the best for last... Our hosts Vince & Rosie made us feel like great friends, not just guests. The entire staff were very friendly and saw to our every need. We are already planning our trip next year to Popa Paradise Resort.

It is the most peaceful place you can find in Bocas del Toro. It has all the facilities and comforts to spend several days so we would have loved to be able to stay longer. Very exclusive and they really strive to provide great service and make sure you have everything you need.

Let me start by saying I don’t write reviews, however, our experience at Popa Paradise Beach Resort is the exception. My husband and I visited the island beach resort in late October early November and had an absolutely wonderful time. The resort is located in an idyllic beautiful setting and all of its facilities including the casitas mesh perfectly with this aptly named paradise.
Our casita was a few steps away from the beach with all the comforts we could ask for. The privacy, tranquility, and beautiful warm ocean was simply perfect!
Kayaks, snorkeling and fishing gear were all available to guests. The most difficult thing was deciding whether to take a kayak out, go snorkeling, swim in the ocean or go the beautiful pool and hang out at the swim up bar.
The food was excellent! Every day we were served local fish, fruits and vegetables. Our hosts would ask us in advance if the proposed menu was acceptable, and it always was.
The owners Vincent and Rosie were perfect hosts: very friendly, welcoming, accommodating and whole a lot of fun. And their staff could not have been better.
We plan on re-visiting the resort soon and highly recommend Popa Paradise Beach Resort. You will not be disappointed!

Your flight should be to Tocumen international Airport. Because of flight scheduling we laid over in Old Town Panama City and took a cab to Albrook Airport about 15 minutes away. At Albrook we took a flight to Bocas Del Toro Airport. About an hour flight. We were met at the airport by staff from Popa Paradise and taken to a boat for final transfer to Isla Popa. We stayed at La Isabella suites. We requested a room in the annex which is in the middle of Casa Viejo (old town) above a square with cafes and restaurants within steps. Just reversed it all for the trip back as we preferred to break up the trip coming and going. Tip: request Casita #10 at Popa it's the best one. #6 if it's not available, it's nearby. Have fun.
The beach and pool at Popa Paradise have been clothing optional since late 2022, and so far the uptake has been moderate, with about one third of our guests taking advantage of the opportunity. "Gawkers and photo takers" are non-existent... we are on an undeveloped island about 35 minutes by boat from Bocas Town, so the tourists and lookie-loo types don't come out here. Furthermore, the hotel does not accept day visitors. You can be assured of privacy at Popa Paradise Beach Resort!
Yes, we do make exceptions for older teens. However, please be aware that Popa Paradise is Clothing Optional at pool and beach, as of Dec 1st 2021. Your son is still welcome, but might get an eyeful!
There are more places to choose from in the Isla Popa area.
