My wife and I spent a couple of weeks vacationing in India in March, and we decided to stay at The Anchorage for a week. We were delighted with the air conditioned room (actually a suite with a living room, a bedroom, attached bath and a convenience kitchen complete with a fridge with minibar, counters, coffeemaker, sink, etc). It was...

The Anchorage is a beautiful place 'anchored' comfortably in the heart of Vagator. I was amazed for the hospitality and care extended by Mr. Walter Dunbar for creating a truly memorable 4 day stay in goa. Mr. Dunbar came across as a fine ex-sailor whose sailing chronicles got me hooked while as I enjoyed the pristine pool at his property....

We went for a weekend and the stay was nice. They are trying to learn and improve more which is a good thing. The pool is nice. The rooms are well maintained. The owner of the property is friendly. The complimentary breakfast is something they can improve on. It's pretty good for the price we paid.

Simply Excellent. The place is exquisite with good service and even better amenities. It was my first trip to Goa and Mr. Walter was one of the nicest person that I met there. The rooms are BIG!! I would definitely stay there every time I visit Goa. Hats Off to the place!!

It is well-nigh impossible to reach the place on one's own. It is hidden away in a quiet corner, far away from anything. But, once you reach there, well, it is not too bad. To me, the best thing was the family ambiance. Its new owners run it like a home-stay and it is most evident in the food they...

It was by far the best place we stayed in India. Excellent in all ways, especially if you prefer western standards. The hotel is very confortable and well located; the swimming pool is great; the rooms were big, clean and super confortable. Beyond that, and maybe even the best of it, the owner was a lovely man who made his...

We stayed at the Anchorage and were very happy with the standard of accommodation, the hospitality of staff and the manager, Walter, and were looked after very well. The Anchorage is in a quiet area near Bardem, but it is very close to the beaches, markets and restaurants . We were assisted above and beyond what would normally occur at...
