This place is like a small haven in a polluted town. The family running it is the kindest we have met, very helpfull. The rooms are nice, with own bathrooms. Delicious breakfast, coffee ad libitum and cozy garden. Good place to enter Cotopaxi from the southern entrance. The town of Lasso is not a cozy place though.

We have stayed here for two nights, before and after the quilotoa loop. Very friendly staff and very nice accomodation. It basically includes everything you need with private bathroom with hot showers. The only disadvantage is the location. Lasso, which is a 15 min. Drive from latacunga doesn't offer much for tourists.

This place is near an entrance to the Cotopaxi National Park. Not close enough to walk. You'll need to arrange a 4WD taxi or guide to go to the parks. Try to arrive with a group to reduce guide costs or tag along with a group staying there. The owner, Marcelo is probably the nicest guy in Ecuador. His son...

Because we liked it so much here, we returned to las cabañas los volcanes after the Quilotoaloop in order to climb the Rumiñhaui. Once again we got a very warm welcome and felt immediately "at home" again. Don Marcelo was still injured, but once again organized a great guied for us for the next day. The hike to the Rumiñhaui...

Opted to stay here instead of Latacunga to visit Cotopaxi NP & to use the owner (Marcelo Araque) as our guide. The NP closed 3 days before our arrival! Plan B was to walk part of the Quilotoa Loop. Marcelo arranged for his son to drive us to the village of Quilotoa & then pick us up from Chugchilan the...

We chose Lasso as our preferred stop over location for the night in order that we could commence travelling around the Quilotoa loop in a counter clockwise direction the following morning. This was a mistake, as the bus system really only works out of Latacunga, 20 minutes further south. We only found this out from the accommodation owner, which supports...

We arrived and unloaded luggage then went to market. After being on the move for days, we were running out of clean clothes. They said they do laundry. We went to market, bought some food we haven't tried and asked them to cook for us for dinner. Yes they did cook. Laundry was done by mid day. There's Internet router...

Comfortable and basic accommodation at a reasonable price. We stopped at Lasso on the way to Isinlivi (on the Quilatoa Loop) thinking it would be closer than going all the way to Latacunga (which was our error). Marcelo (the owner) sorted out our travel plans, writing out the bus company and time to take it from Latacunga to Isinlivi. He...

The location os Right next to the entrance to Cotopaxi National Park. Right the corner there is a small shop working long hours. The family who owes this place is very friendly and helpful. The owner could talk for hours about the Cotopaxi history. They all tried to make our stay unforgettable. Rooms are spacious and clean with hot shower...

Didn't expect much, was pleasantly surprised. The place itself is charming, the owner is super helpful and the food there is great. I really recommend getting breakfast and dinner there. The canins itself are quite small, but we only went there to sleep.

Thank Tomas D

“All cabanas face a central driveway onto the property which is very quiet. There's a bit of noise from one of the bigger roads nearby, but this dies down at night. We slept very well.”
