We couldn't believe our luck when we read about this place in a travel book and were actually able to secure reservations for two nights. We could have easily stayed longer, as each day was so incredibly relaxing. The lake is gorgeous in its clarity and blue color that changes with the sunlight. We hung out on the docks, paddled...

This hotel is set in an idyllic place (as is everything around Laguna Bacalar). Spacious cabanas are in well arranged garden and are very clean. Food is excellent, though it takes some time to prepare. Front desk girl was very helpful and kind and was speaking very good English. Hotel offers boat tours which are on the expensive side, but...

We only stayed for one night on our way down to Belize but it was like a little paradise. We had a garden room which overlooked the lake, it was lovely like a little thatched hut. Not a huge amount to do if you were there for a few days but there are free use of kayaks which were fun....

I stayed one month at Rancho Encantado in 2006 for a yoga certification. A long stay was enough time to get a true experience of the space, town near by, people and surrounding offerings. The palapas are adorable. The amenities are not rough but not luxurious either. Louvered wooden shutters and screens are what keep you and nature separated. The...

What a beautiful place to relax! The cabins are made like a large, traditional Yucatan home: Oval with a thatched roof. They have a kitchenette and coffee machine. Ours had two single beds and a king size bed -- great for families. No A/C but the fans were effective. The lagoon is beautiful and great for swimming or just floating...

We stayed here for 3 nights, escaping the hordes in Cancun. It was an easy 3 1/2 drive down. For the first night we stayed in Room 10 - a lagoon side non a/c room. This room had a double bed, plus 2 additional single beds. Although there was no a/c, there were 2 good sized fans, and we didn't...

This please was inexpensive and outstanding, We arrived right before 9 from a long drive from Cancun and were pleasantly greeted and able to eat at the restaurant that closes at 9. Food was top shelf and presentation was 4 star. The staff were all amazing and the grounds pristine. This was unfortunately only a stopover to Belize. The cabanas...
