My first impression was, that the rooms are a bit simple, the bathroom with our room was really tiny. The wooden floor in our room (the Red Room) was so crooked that a suitcase with wheels could probably roll off :-)) - but everything was clean. The breakfast-room is furnished simple too. But does it matter? John the host is...

B&B is beautifully restored and decorated, and nicely landscaped. Room was above expectation. The Proprietor (John) gave enthusiastic overview of local history, politics and local activities & sights on our arrival. Breakfast was unpretentious but generous and waitress sent us out with stack of toast to feed the ducks at the river's edge. River and marina are 5 minutes walk....

The B&B was a delight. The building was impressive Rooms were above expectations. Breakfasts were simple but plentiful. The host was very friendly and informative. The place is very kid friendly. The town was absolutely delightful. We were a block away from old settlers buildings and interpretive museum. Paths behind museum allow to to scale the mountains behind the town....

We stayed in the apartment for four nights. John, the proprietor, was very helpful with local information and the rooms were rustic. The breakfast was good but it was the same every morning. The one point that spoiled the entire stay for us was that, as we left on a Sunday, we were suddenly, and unexpectedly, asked to pay cash....

That B&B in into the old school of the village. It was completely retored by John Graham, the owner, and the ols style was preserved. Rooms ave beautiful, vclean and comfortables. There is also one suite for a family. Breakfasts are perfect and delicious. and that village is very nice to walk.

Location is beautiful, just 3 minutes walk from the river. We stayed in the Blue room which is so nice and quiet. Breakfast is delicious. The house is completely restored although part of the wooden floor is still original and a bit squeaking - not a big problem. The house is a bit far from the park entrance - about...

My hubby and I stayed at La Vieille Ecole two different weekends in August. We were charmed by this B&B and its host John (who speaks both English and French), and the village of Grandes-Piles. I have lived in Quebec City for 20 years and had no idea that this gem of a village was there. Many Europeans visit this...

This was not a nice place at all. Although it sounded very nice to us, "an old school", reality was rather disappointing. The house is very old and dirty and so are the rooms. We even had blood stains on our bed linen!!!! Further, you are afraid that the floor may collapse. There is NO sound isolation in the house...
