The apartments were very clean and served us well on this short break. The location is up hill so not for those with walking difficulties, but the views are excellent. Ensure you have a higher floor as the trees will spoil your views of the bay from the balcony. The town itself is very welcoming and spotlessly clean with a selection of restaurants and shops. It is possible to mix and match eating out/in cooking quick and easy meals with the facilities available. (No oven but hob, microwave/grill, fridge). Good for beach and cliff walks around the coast and to other towns and villages. Easy driving around the neighbouring towns - 45 minutes from Dinan.

We booked a last minute stay in Villas du spa in the first week of August. We got a standard studio on the ground floor, with the sea view. The view - and the town itself - were definitely the highlights of our stay. Otherwise the place seems overpriced and certainly is not worth its four stars. First, the good: a well-equipped kitchen (including a dishwasher), a comfortable bed, a closed parking lot, waste segregation. The reception staff was helpful and efficient. The bad: after the first night we had to move to a studio in another building (there are 3 of them) because of some plumbing problems. Having to pack all of our stuff and carry it elsewhere was quite annoying. The only person that offered help was the plumber. Secondly, the appartment was supposed to be cleaned up in the middle of the stay - but somebody showed up in our room after 5 days only. After the cleaning lady left, not only was the floor smudgy and sticky, but the bed linen was left unchanged and there was less toilet paper than before she came! When we tried to vacuum-clean ourselves, the smell from inside the machine was unbearable. Thirdly, the villas have some design flaws: paths in front of entrances are mostly sandy so you'll soil your room in no time upon entering it. Plus, the furniture inside the room looked cheap and was set up pretty much at random so you'll need to move your armchair from a dark corner in order to look at the sea. Also, the doors and locks were very noisy - you'll find it hard not to disturb neighbours if you fancy an early morning stroll. The place is managed by Spa Marin hotel, 300 m down a steep little street - you'll want to head there first to check in. Also, be aware the villas are up the hill - you'll need to climb a few hundred metres on your way back from the otherwise lovely beach.

I stayed here for a week and had a great stay...the place is modern and spotless, with loads of secure parking and good internet. Will defiantly stay here again when I'm back in the area. Only thing wrong was that I booked a sea view room and as I was on a lower floor the trees blocked the view, so if you want the view ask to be on the higher floors...or take a chainsaw with you!!! Make sure you check in at the Spa Marin Hotel as the apartments are up a steep hill...

We were really expecting an exceptional stay when we booked this Apartment in Pleneuf-Val-Andre. But we were left feeling a little numb. You cannot fault the cleanliness of the place and the facilities are brilliant in the apartment but we found it to be a little sterile. The reception guy is brilliant and was very professional in his role. You just feel quite cut off up on the hill! Even though the place was really busy you never really saw anyone or heard people. The garden area needs attention because its looking quite tired. There is a Spa and gym but as guests of the Villas rather than the hotel - you are not allowed to use it! Very odd! We were never informed that we had to be out of the room at 10am on our departure day. AT 10am on the dot the phone rang and we were asked when we were leaving!!!! We were still having breakfast and felt very rushed. We are actually on holiday and this isn't a work day! We personally wouldn't go back there but that is just our experience. The place is very clean and has all the mod-cons.

Don mistake the village located hotel/spa and the steep up hill adjacent apartment buildings of modern well thought of outside architecture. The decoration is trendy and clean so do not expect the coastal Brittany/North Atlantic style that might more fit this area and its visitors. The small apartments will have varied views, we might have had one of the best, 722, as the terrace has a small roof, nice when it rains, stunning views! We stayed as a couple, it would have been quite small for four, the way they offer it. So if within budget, better upgrade yourself by reservation from 2 to 4 and from 4 to 6, especially if you want to stay inside according the weather, still being basic. It is all very clean and modern with good beds and bathroom. There is an every 3 day cleaning and changing of linen. Don’t see yourself cooking large meals, it is ideal for breakfast and a small bite for lunch or dinner if you don’t want to go out. To visit the village and beach you have to overcome a very steep hill or take the somehow better ‘hotel’ route. But there was enough parking space in the village end of July. Pleneuf Val Andre is a very pleasant family sea side resort with a well kept esplanade, huge beach and beautiful end of 19th century villas. There is a casino, nice shops and varied restaurant choice. Great location for walking the ‘sentiers des douaniers’ and many large beaches in the area. The little port of Dahouet nearby is true Brittany feel.
