We arrived at Maravilla in the evening and were immersed in the sounds of the coqui; it would be a comforting sound for the next six nights. From there, we immediately experienced the amazing cooking skills of our host, Margo. Our first dinner, completely vegan, was almost surreal as the homemade bread was followed by course after course of deliciousness....

From the moment you are arrive at Maravilla Mountain, the cares and worries of mainland life drift away and you are allowed to just "be". Tucked away amongst fields of fruit and coffee, the coqui frogs sing you to sleep in a gorgeous rainforest bereft of bugs. Your hosts, Margo and Mark, quickly become like old friends who serve you...

Visited Maravilla in March for our honeymoon and stayed at the cabin. It was beautiful, romantic and relaxing (you will be hearing the sweet call of coqui for weeks afterward) and Margo and Mark were wonderful hosts! We are both vegan and Margo's vegan creations were the best 8 consecutive meals we have ever eaten in our lives. Vegans/vegetarians, you...

For a belated honeymoon, my wife and I spent an amazing six nights at Maravilla. We stayed in the spacious and private cabin, enjoying lazy, relaxing days of reading books in the hammock, listening to the coquí frogs, and delighting in the company of the two resident canines, Billie Holiday and Pony. Margo and Mark were wonderful, accommodating hosts. Every...

We had the best stay at Maravilla - my only complaint is that they were booked the following night so we could not extend our stay! We stayed with some friends in the Cottage. After some yoga by the open balcony doors and a late afternoon hike, Margo cooked an amazing dinner. We are not vegetarians, but you will not...

I can't even begin to know where to start. When my girlfriend and I drove past the Taco Bell's and Rite-Aids on the way to Maravilla, our hearts sunk and we thought we had made a bad mistake booking this trip. We had hoped for an "off-the-grid" sanctuary replete with flora and fauna unavailable to us in Philadelphia. As we...

We very much enjoyed our stay in the cabin at Maravilla. Mark and Margo were excellent hosts, and Margo is an excellent cook.! We were looking forward to staying in the cabin knowing that we could "unplug" because it had no electricity (which was great!). It was very comfortable and had no bugs or mosquitoes! The cabin was very private...

What can I say? It was an amazing trip on all levels. I could not have dreamed of a better vacation, we can't even put it into words. The cabin really became home for the week that we were there. Margo and Mark are the best! Margo's food is amazing, we have never been better fed! We had such a...

I had a wonderful time at Maravilla. I was blown away by the beauty and magic of the jungle. Margo and Mark live in the most lush environment I have ever visited. The accomodations are both rustic and artsy, a real treat for the eye and soul. The cottage is very comfortable and the cabin is a great retreat for...

“No need to bring anything fancy to wear - keep it simple and comfortable. If you plan on seeing the waterfalls on location make sure you bring a very good pair of water sandals and long or 3/4 length pants and athletic top. Bring or buy your own alcohol save money and take advantage of the onsite blenders to make creative drinks. Air conditioning could have been better - it did get warm there.”

“We loved the cottage where we stayed but also fell in love with the little cabin when we saw it (no electricity). However, I'm extremely allergic and it was very humid so I'm glad I didn't go that far to escape.”
