The welcome from staff is the first warm experience. The building itself is old, so the character is evident as you step inside the front door to the bar and restaurant. Our room was up one flight of stairs (handrail and push button lights for night). With two windows overlooking the bay and harbour of Donaghadee, our room, appropriately named "Drake" was bright and spacious. Two chairs and a desk, luggage rack and ottoman at the end of the bed were useful. A small foyer outside the bathroom contained an open wardrobe (great hangers not attached to the rail), teasmade, hairdryer, iron and ironing board. The bathroom was very large and was bright and modern with a bath squared at one end to facilitate showering. It's worth looking up special offers as we booked a dinner, bed and breakfast package which we thought was good value. We shall return. The restaurant is excellent. We had been twice before for lunch, but this time decided to stay over and not worry about driving home.

Good meal but disappointed to see that staff weren’t wearing visors to protect customers. Surprised to see cobwebs hanging from the ceiling corners where the roof lights are. Not a good look. Easily remedied though. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Stayed for 3 nights at this incredible guesthouse. Although communication before the stay was so so slow , the stay more than made up for it. We stayed in the apartment in shore street, which was perfect for our needs. Booked with hotels.com as couldn’t get a timely response from menu. In fact the rate with hotels.com was better value compared with direct booking. Included breakfast which was great.

Out for a drive, heard nothing but good things about here and popped in on Monday for lunch. Well impressed. I had the seafood chowder and the wife had Cajun dusted satay chicken. Can’t fault it at all. Lovely surroundings as well.

I've stayed in hotels all over the world, and can't recall ever experiencing a more comfortable bed than the four poster here! Perfect pillows and bed linen, spacious accommodation and friendly staff. Bathroom was also huge and well equipped. Fantastic breakfast as well.
