Casa Alta is a very friendly place. Perfect place to stay if you are going to do some hiking around Vizzavona or if you, like we did, want a stopover in the mountains while traveling by train thru Corsica. You don’t need a car to get to Casa Alta. It’s a 10 min walk from Vizzavona train station, where you... More

We loved this place which we visited during our one week Korsika journey. We hope to come back for longer time in the near future. Home made products, food, library, maps ... all those items available and served during breakfast and dinner...

We stayed in Casa Alta half way on the GR20 route in July 2015. What an amazing find! The house is lovely and beautifully located. The hosts are very helpful, and took great care of us when we turned up at their doorstep slightly disheveled after a week in the hills. The rooms are lovely and clean, and the breakfast... More

Vincent and Henry were very welcoming and the place is charming. Our room was super and the shower room had plenty of hot water, comfy bed etc. The breakfast was really exceptional. I'd said I was gluten free and there were several treats awaiting in the morning including chestnut cake and cheesecake, home made yogurt and confiture. Lovely coffee and... More

Vincent and Henri are exceptional hosts - nothing is too much trouble. They gave us excellent advice on the hikes near Vizzavona, the breakfasts were delicious and even our dog was made to feel welcome. The house in the pine forest is beautiful and we had a very comfortable room at the top.

Thank you Vincent and Henry for a warm welcome to Vizzavona! We are not hikers but Vincent pointed us in the right direction to walk around part of the beautiful local waterfalls. Casa Alta is very cosy and we were sorry to leave. Henry and Vincent cooked a wonderful meal for our dinner and their enthusiasm for this magical part... More

So where to start?.. The location is just great, close to the train station and the main road but yet somehow isolated so no noise from cars or train. The host is extremely nice and helpful, provided us with maps and instructions for all our trips as well as useful information on where to find birds (my boyfriend is a... More

A charming old house with a fine view of the mountains from our room at the top floor. Casa Alta is about ten minutes walk from the train station and if you have good legs that’s not a problem. We were four persons travelling together and our room was better than the room on the first floor. The bed in... More

We stayed here for two nights last summer. I normally don't write reviews, but this place truly deserved one! We had a perfect stay! The host, Vincent, was super-nice, and very helpful with advicing us on hikes! Breakfast was really good, fresh croissants and homemade jam and juice. Great value for money!

Casa Alta is on the main road, just above the railway station and bar restaurants at Vizzavona. It's actually a step up from the road, so you don't hear any traffic, and for all intents and purposes it's a solitary stone house on a forested slope. The interior is lovely, full of woodwork, offering a great selection of books about... More
