We stayed at Kurula's over the weekend with my wife. The room was really nice with a private sauna to relax after a day of outdoor activities and a comfortable bed for a good night sleep, waking up to a beautiful panorama view over the lake. Chromecast on the tv ensures watching Netflix etc. is as easy as ever. You get a key code for your room so no need to hustle with keys or key cards.
The restaurant has certainly picked up from some of the early reviews on here; the food was certainly the level of a higher end of restaurants. The reindeer was one of the best meat dishes I've ever had. Breakfast was great as well.
I'd definitely recommend Kurula's for tourists abroad, as well as locals looking for some luxury and relaxing!

I stayed at this beautiful resort because I wanted to explore Pyha and all the activities on offer. The hotel is so peaceful a real step into the wilderness, the rooms are new fresh and all with outstanding views of the lake. The bed was super comfy, kitchenette very handy, the sauna and drying cupboard much appreciated after a long day on the slopes. The north lift is accessible just across the Rd and a bus stop just outside the resort. We booked a husky trip which was amazing, we were picked up outside the hotel and taken to ride our own sledge with the huskies. The dogs were well cared for and the owners clearly loved them as did we. We booked a few ski lessons and would loved to have stayed longer. Kristina, Lyo and the team made us feel so welcome and we can’t wait to come back soon.

As a travel planner I have the opportunity to travel to many places, scout many locations for my clients and meet many people. I can honestly say that if you are looking for a holiday in Lapland, you will be thrilled with Kurula’s.
Kurula’s is a family run business with all the special touches you can imagine. Kristiina and her father, Eero, run the company and they provided exceptional service. We were welcomed and felt at home the moment we stepped foot on the property.
It is literally a one stop for a fabulous accommodations AND a full range of summer and winter activities from canoeing, hiking, biking, fishing (and ice fishing), xc and downhill skiing, snow mobiles, winter fat bikes, reindeer safaris, dog sleds, and so much more.
The rooms at Kurula’s are spacious and tastefully decorated. Each room has private deck, kitchen with fridge, cook top burners and microwave, private sauna, and a drying closet for wet clothes. There is plenty of room to relax and enjoy the views.
In addition to the private sauna in your room, there is a large sauna, hot tub, showers, changing rooms and lounge right on the lake. I highly recommend taking advantage of this special treat.
We requested breakfast in the room and the food that was left for us was abundant and delicious. There is a restaurant on location that will open in December. Kurula’s takes great pride in all that they do so I can only imagine it will be superb.
When inquiring about activities for my clients, they were incredibly helpful and offered so many suggestions. They are a wealth of knowledge for having a great time in Lapland and can teach so much about the culture, nature, biodiversity of the land, history of the area, details on the birds and animals.
We enjoyed a fascinating cultural tour (guided by Eero) and were able to visit the only original village not destroyed in WWII. Eero grew up in the forest in Lapland and knows all the ins and outs about the history of the area, the culture of the Sami, trees, birds, mushrooms, you name it….if has to do with Lapland….he knows about it.
We enjoyed a visit to the husky farm and learned about the dogs and how they are trained. Kristiina provided us with a guided hike to a beautiful gorge. We learned about nature, the rock formations, ice ages, birds, Sami culture, the changes that took place in the land over thousands of years and so much more.
When asked about the Northern Lights, Kristiina advised how to download an app that provided notification that northern lights were in the area. Once the notification went off, the show began. The lights can be seen from private decks or what better yet, after viewing the lights from the deck take a walk down to the dock and watch an amazing light show from there.
If you are going to Lapland….I highly recommend Kurula’s. Reach out to Kristiina as she can set you up with an amazing place to stay and a multitude of summer or winter activities for you, your family and/or friends.

The hotel is brand new and is located a short distance from the city center and the ski fields. It overlooks a beautiful frozen lake where you can take a sauna and swim in the icy waters. The rooms are equipped with a kitchen, sauna, underfloor heating, dryer and equipped terraces overlooking the lake from which we were able to admire some northern lights. The restaurant cuisine is good and typical with very kind and attentive service. We booked several excursions through their reception and everything went great. For a small mix-up they gifted us with a bottle of champagne. Sleds and snow clothing available. Really recommended for the wonderful landscape surrounded by nature.

I did spend a week with a friend in Pyhä and part of it in this beautiful, modern and luxury Resort. Highly recommended! All the promises the give on their description fulfilled. Rooms and views are excellent and location near the hiking, biking, skiing, and canoeing routes are in walking distance. If you like downhill skiing the nearest Slope is just across the road. Services (shops, restaurants etc) are in walking distance and you can choose if you like to cook your self or use services since there is a kitchen in the room. There is a restaurant in the Resort but it wasn't open during our holiday. So I can't say more of it but the infra was as nice a all the rest in the Kurula's Resort. I would recommend to book the sauna, it is something else. Great design, incl. Jacuzzi, near by the waterfront and view that takes your breath away. I will also recommend the Kairankutsu services. We did do canoeing trip by river Pyhä. All the needed equipment comes from them and also they give you guidance when needed. Kairankutsu and Kurula's Resort do work together so use of these services is as easy as you could get. Hotel and Kairankutsu staff are very nice and helpful. You won't get dissapointed if you go this Resort.

We booked the All about Lapland - winter package. The place is beautifully located around the lake, which looks magical with all the snow, which makes the morning view from your window amazing. Communication was excellent before and after booking. The activities booked for us through the hotel were all straight forward with pick-up times, etc. The room was lovely and warm, clean, and the sauna was an added bonus. Kitchen amenities were great. Heated cupboard for snow gear to dry off was helpful. Upon arrival, we were shown around our apartment and then taken to the Snowsuit unit to get our kit, which kept us warm throughout. Staff were always friendly, and polite. They have sledges outside to use when needed for the kids (or adults) There is a pathway opposite the Hotel that takes you down to the supermarket/food places - about a 35-40 min walk, on the way, there is a little skate park with good hills for sledging as well as a hut to keep warm if needed. The restaurant is also really nice. Menu is slightly limited, but you can order from the kids menu too if needed 😋 Breakfast was lovely, plenty of choice, which was one of our only downfalls, as for some reason we couldn't go to the restaurant for breakfast the last 2 mornings, we were given breakfast boxes and compensated a little for this. But other than that, the experience was amazing. Thank you 😊

Kurulas is absolutely amazing - we LOVED staying here. The room was perfect and well equipped to be able to cook simple meals. The balcony was beautiful and we loved spending the evening out there with hot chocolate! There were much appreciated little extras like a hairdryer, board games to borrow, a plug, a blanket on the bed etc. They put me in this room at my request and I really appreciated it and was so grateful! The private sauna and the shower were heaven. I didn't get to try the large one as I have children, but I'd like to next time! Breakfast was absolutely delicious with a variety of foods! The staff were friendly and helpful and the location is beautiful. Kurulas has sledges you can borrow too, which we certainly made use of. We walked on the frozen lake and did a husky ride if theirs (kairankutsu) which was amazing.
The only con was due to other guests being disrespectful/thoughtless. There's 3 levels of rooms and metal stairs. Quite often, people/kids would run up and down them numerous times and at some points stand there jumping. As this was right next to and above our room, it was very loud and would often wake me and my son at night! I think a sign asking guests to be quiet on the stairwell and/or carpeted runner on the stairs would be helpful, hopefully. That's not Kurulas fault though, it's just other guests unfortunately. At the end of the stay, we tied up the bin and stripped the bedding on the day we left, but I'm not sure if we were meant to put it anywhere? We had to leave early in the morning before reception opened, so maybe a small note about checkout would be helpful :)
We will definitely be back and highly recommend this place to anyone considering staying in the area 💗 I am so glad I chose Kurulas - it was just perfect!

If you're looking for the ultimate winter wonderland experience, Kurulas Resort in Lapland is perfect! Our stay was absolutely mind-blowing, and it’s safe to say this magical place has won my heart and I am keen to go back in the near future.
The resort itself is stunning, with cozy, luxurious accommodations that made us feel at home right away. Its in the the heart of a snow-covered paradise, Kurulas offers breathtaking views and an tranquility. It is a nearly flat round- with good path into Pyha town itself ... takes about 30 mins with the children ( aged 12 and 16) ... though on one day we did ask for a lift and the hotel provided a lift down or arranged a taxi. they also arrange wonderful warm snow suits and the comfiest boots ever- so even in -31 we werent cold!
The activities offered/arranged by the resort were incredible and made our stay unforgettable. From thrilling husky rides through snowy trails to skiing adventures, zooming around on snowmobiles, and even visiting an enchanting Amethyst Mine, and a hugely successful Northern Lights tour. Each experience felt so unique and they looked after us so well.
The staff at Kurulas Resort were exceptional, with a special mention for Daria who was an absolute star throughout our trip. She went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect—even when our flight home was canceled due to bad weather in Birmingham, she handled everything seamlessly, allowing us to enjoy the rest of our time stress-free. Kristian also helped with the late booking of a Northern lights hunt and all the staff Vilma and the kitchen staff were super friendly. Breakfast is a hearty breakfast with lots of chocie, including bacon and eggs ( which I am missing today already) and dinner is excellent.( Limited evening meal choice, but a childrens menu if they didnt like anything of the main menu)
Kurulas Resort isn’t just a place to stay—it’s an experience that stays with you. I’ve truly found my happy place here, and I finally understand why so many people return year after year.
Kurulas - we will be back :) (Maybe even Sept if I get my way!)
Thank you- we wont forget this trip or your beautiful county

The staff from the get go where extremely friendly and super helpful. My wife and I are pure vegetarian (don't have meat or egg) and the restaurant chef cooked us a meal to accommodate that!
The suite itself is spacious and has all the essential cooking items you need. The added sauna in the suite is really nice to be able to use and relax.
The scenery out from the suite is beautiful as you can see the lake. There's only around 20 suites there so it is a really nice and quiet resort.
Having the restaurant there is really convenient when you decide you don't want to cook or if you want to have breakfast.
Overall would highly recommend staying here especially as the suites are of high quality.

We really enjoyed our stay at Kurula's. The staff was very nice and accommodating, we could communicate before our arrival (about arrival time and arrangements) and during our stay (they gave us some tips for a little hike). We booked a table for dinner at the bistrot and really enjoyed our meal. The room was spacious, spotless clean and we loved the sauna and the bed which was really comfortable. We even got to see the northern lights from our room ! Breakfast is the only thing that could be better: there is not enough space for everyone to move around the buffet, and the choice of products is a bit poor compared to other hotels or resorts.
