We stayed at Palazzo Malaspina for a week in this lovely B&B. A great location for exploring the Chianti region and all of Tuscany. The surrounding countryside of which there was a view from our room was beautiful. San Donato in Poggio is the perfect Tuscan town! Maria was a lovely host, assisting with travel tips where she could and...

We recently went to Italy for two weeks and we spent one of those weeks at Palazzo Malaspina. The B&B was amazing and this was our favorite part of the whole trip! We stayed in a beautiful room with a balcony overlooking the Tuscan hills. The bathroom was private and good sized. Maria an her family are the best hosts...

There are two Palazzos in San Donata - Palazzo Malaspina and Maria (its graceful owner) for overnight or staging accommodations, and Palazzo Pretorio for the absolute best Pizza a legna (wood fired) you will ever eat! Maria offers 5 rooms - 4 with views of the countryside (Rooms 1 and 2 share a small standing only balcony) and then there...

A beautiful character home with a wonderful host. We were made to feel welcome. Our lack of Italian was no problem. Beautiful home made cakes, fresh salamis and cheese for breakfast. A glorious home with a beautiful view in a beautiful town

Beautifully decorated, quiet, large room with wonderful jacuzzi bathroom, great base for Sienna and Florence if you have a car. We shared stories with other travellers over a leisurely breakfast before exploring the stunning surrounding countryside. Only down sides - no parking but it is available nearby and no facilities to make hot drinks.

My husband and I have stayed for three days at Palazzo Malaspina between Christmas and New Year's and we loved it. Our room was very spacious, elegantly furnished, perfectly heated and had a balcony with a great view of the Chianti hills. The bathroom was spotlessly clean, plenty of clean towels available. The staff is great: the owner, sig.ra Maria,...

My family stayed at Palazzo Malaspina for 3 days. Maria and Mary were just delightful. The rooms were comfortable and very clean. Breakfast was wonderful. Maria suggested sites for us to see and we were not disappointed. The village was a wonderful and delightful bonus. New Years Eve fireworks outside our window. The pizza place next to the B&B was...

Very nice place. Old palace in the centre of small "borgo" conveniently located between Siena and Florence. Spatious, comfortable rooms, modern bathrooms, great view on the Tuscan hills and an extraordinary home-made breakfast. Not to miss. Nicola&Carrie

It's difficult to choose where to stay in Italy. I spent countless hours researching and reading reviews. Well, this one I nailed on the head! It could not be anymore perfect! We came to Chianti on the tail end of our trip to relax from a hectic 2 weeks of sight seeing and traveling throughout Italy. Relaxing is exactly what...

This was our second stay at Palazzo Malaspina. Maria is a wonderful hostess, the breakfast is delicious and the accommodation beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Not to mention the incredible views and the lovely setting! San Donato in Poggio is perfectly located for day trips around Tuscany and the little village offers delicious meals at the restaurants nearby. I would...
