We stayed in Mandl-Scheiblechner in order to visit the event “gipfelklaenge”. What makes this hotel special is the service and the passion for detail. The place is clean, taken care of and nicely decorated. There are open spaces to linger around and one can easily find a quiet place where one can work, which is especially important for me. Furthermore, there is a small wellness area with Finnish sauna, infrared cabin and massages – so every amenity you can expect from a 4* hotel. My recommendation: stay in one of the so-called “Geniesserzimmer”! They are spacy and kept regional and authentic: four-poster bed and pictures from Austrian artists in the room, “schnaps” (some typical, but very strong Austrian liquor) and fruits from the region. My room was on the riverside and in the morning I was woken up by the sunrays and the sound of water. Lovely surprise: we received a wish list from which we could choose 3 wishes that were then fulfilled (e.g. a schnaps in the bar, solarium visit, etc.). I think, that was a lovely thing and it made the stay something special although we only spent 2 nights there. To summarize – a positive surprise. I felt comfortable in the whole house and the atmosphere was pleasant and amiable. I really liked the topic “regionality and enjoyments”. The owners, as well as the personnel were extremely friendly and helpful and made the stay being remembered. PS! Who is looking for a special hiking experience: check out “gipfelklaenge”! It is a two days event – hiking combined with concerts. The scenery is gorgeous and the rhythms as well ;)

...we have had spent 5 nights with half board at this hotel as our winter skiing break. the hotel is situated in the center of the village on the main road cca 20 km away from the skiing spot of hochkar. u can get a free skibus 50 m away from the door. this center location and the fact that the hotel is besides a gas station did not affect our stay at all and the place is quiet and relaxing. our room was facing the mountain river ybbs which u could hear when u opened the window... the personel was nice and always ready to help. our 2 girls (7 and 2and1/2) had an excellent treatment having kids utensils, mugs, plates as well as playing corner with books and toys). the room was nice and clean with bank bed for kids tv w austrian and german channels. the wifi did not work perfectly in the room, but was ok in the hall. the hotel also offers possibility for sauna steam bath. massages are for extra payment. it was nice to have sauna after a long skiing day... the breakfast was rich, nice selection of hams, cheese, smoked salmon, home made jams and cakes simply more what u would expect. the 4 course dinner of half board was also very good, mostly traditional central european (austrian) tasty always great ingredients, when something simple than with little added spice and flavour. hochkar the skiing place is well organized fresh snow is garanted and we were very happy with joschi's ski-and snowboard school. the young international team of teachers was just perfect all the kids had an excellent treat. u can ski between 1400-1770m the slopes are not super long but good for a short break. the road to get there is well cleaned (only 1st day was snowchain needed and it was snowing every day) 2 cleaning trucks and 2 skibuses are constantly rolling up and down so u have a choice to leave ur car behind although it is more comfortable. overall the place made a nice impression we recommend it and we will go back. if u search for something decent comfi with good kitchen (and not unpersonal super modern) with an attentive care of the owners/ staff do not hesitate to try it. (we had a feeling as if it was not (just) a 4star hotel but a super gasthof or guesthouse with something "homi" in it) Although it is very well organized some little things to consider to improve: a full time receptionist would useful or there should be a bell not to chase the always busy stuff, the internet service needs to be improved, if fruit/apple is offered in the room at arrival would be nice to have it refilled, the sauna should have longer service hours maybe w some relaxing music and the existing candles to be lit. the cleaning person should arrive every day even without hanging out the tag on the door or not ignoring this sign (i believe though it was a 1 time misstep). THANK U Hotel Mandl & Scheiblechner! ...we wish u may happy satisfied costumers!
