I had possibility only to overnight at the Vesileppis hotel and spa, which doesn't give a good picture from my visit. Not so many people moving around for the Covid-19 restrictions and some facilities were closed, too. My room vas very simple, yet with a reduced price as I wasn't able to use other facilitaties of the hotel than the restaurant. The evening buffet as well as the brakfast were well within Finnish hotel standards. However, the attractions of the Vesileppis are the spa, a skiing tube under the ground and, of course the Muumi Ice Cave in - 4° C temperature (24,80 F). The extra facilities are nonfree. I recommend contacting the hotel's web site. For instance, the Muumi Ice Cave is not open all the year.
I traveled with my family last weekend to Vesileppis. We go to stay at this hotel once a year since our kids are members of a ski club (Joensuun Hiihto-Kataja) and need to go there as part of their training. The hotel has a very good ski track and some sports fields. During our stay, my son and I forgot our swimming gear at the swimming pool showers. We only realized it when we were back home. It was particularly sad for my son as we bought him his swimsuit a day before going to Vesileppis as a gift for the trip. My son asked me to contact the hotel and so I did, even though I had few hopes for having their back. I wrote an e-mail giving details of our swiming gear and where we left them. To my surprise, I received a positive reply from Jenna who works at the reception desk. She was kind enough to send me a photo of our swimming gear for confirmation. So I gave her my home address and she sent our swimming gear by post. I am so grateful to her for being so kind as to attend our request. She managed to turn a bad memory from this trip into a nice one. For this reason, and for many more, I recommend anyone to stay at Vesileppis. I hope I can thank her personally next time we go there.…
We visited this facility with the whole family, it's a beautiful spa hotel, good for the money, indoor activity facilities are numerous so long you have enough energy, there will always be something to do. There gym facility of several kinda, swimming pool, bar, restaurant with good Finnish food, basketball pitch, can also be football pitch with a capacity of stadium seaters close to 2000 people. Bowling, ice skating pitch, etc. I really recommend this place, it is all inclusive.
Nothing seriously wrong with Sport & Spa Hotel Vesileppis, but it could do better. Rooms were clean and everytihng worked well, except for the wifi. Their website says they have wifi throughout the whole hotel but the network was closed. Comfortable beds.Friendly staff. Beautiful countryside and a small village. One thing was strange: this was the first time ever that a spa hotel or any hotel with a tiniest, little swimming pool doesn't offer slippers and towels. You have to pay extra. Not much, but on the other hand this is not a very cheap hotel. Pool area and saunas were nice and never crowded ( I stayed here in January). Breakfast buffet was quite good, but the dinner buffet was a humdrum experience. Had i stayed here longer than two nights I definetely would have gone looking for other dinner options.…
We have been there for the ukulele festival. Wonderful location in a small town. Super spa with a big pool and super ice park with many and beautiful things to see! I loved this place. I hope to come back one day.
This is the best place to have sports camps. Everything under one roof. Swimming pools, ballet hall, gym, ice rink, restaurants, bowling alley, multifunctional big sports hall etc. Outside you can do track and field, many different ballgames etc. Also under the main building in about 70 meters deep there is a cave where you can ski all year round. Its unbelievable place all together. I just love it. The reception and the people there are great. It feels like a home.
I am usually quite easily satisfied with hotel services... but this holiday left me a bitter taste and I had to write my experience: - at arrival we had a quite cold welcoming - You get a bunch of different cards for opening doors at arrival which is quite confusing - first thing we notice in the room are 2 broken lamps (see photos) - No minibar - curtains too short for the size of the window - wifi free but insanely slow! - Our double bed had 2 different-height mattresses. Not so comfy for a couple! - spa is so small I would not even dare to call it so - one of the 2 restaurants was closed (which is understandable considering there were not many guests present) but the food choice was small and despite looking good, our food was quite tasteless... the potatoes especially - I have never been in spa-hotel where bath robe and slippers were not included and had to be rented at extra cost... and despite I asked for one persone only, I got it for both of us... and one set remained unused. - In the room hair dryer was missing (you have a spa...don't you think people need an hair drier??). I had to go back to the spa to dry my hair. But, hey, you do have a SUPERUSEFUL ironing set! (really???) - in the evening there was really nothing to do: we tried to go bowling but it was all booked. We tried to play some table hockey but handles to play were missing and we had to improvise with hands not to waste the coin already inserted. Outside there is really nothing else to do. - I got a massage, and honestly it felt quite odd: relaxing yes, but for 10 minutes it felt like she was moving her hands just to take time. - Other beauty treatments were also quite disappointing. Or at least not what I was expecting to pay for. - At the reception they didn't even know of the extra services we got and we still had to pay. If we wouldn't have said what we did there we could have left without paying the extras... It felt that they were really disorganized at the reception. - The price is definitely TOO high for what you get! Within 100km from there you can find way better spas and services (with awesome settings!) for the same price! Ok, let's see the positive sides: - Nice walking paths and landscapes around the hotel - Really nice for nordic skiers - the Ice Cave with ice sculptures was really beautiful - Breakfast was one of the best I have ever had in hotels. Big choice, fresh food and really tasty... a part from the orange juice: stay away from that! - Ironing set in the room... I don't even need one at home...is this useful?…
I have been there with my hockey team and we really liked the whole thing. The serves was really good, in terms of sport everything was great and it was really easy to get to the ice rink. It was really one of the best camps I had in my entire life, really hope to come back again.
This remarkable Spa has everything, swimming, gym, skiing, skating not forgetting lovely little village and outside ice walking. Staff is friendly, hopafully local 😉. You will have a good time here with good food, coffee and athmosphere, and of course exercise ⛷☃️🏊🏻🏋️♀️
I went to sleep here for the night. The beds were very nice and the hotel quiet. I slept like a baby. Breakfast was also good, so I have no complaints. Apparently the sports facilities here are awesome, but on this visit I didn't have a chance to see them.
