A peaceful location with an outstanding view of the Tuscan countryside from the terrace where we ate. Two small and beautifully maintained outdoor pools. Food mostly excellent except for the Sunday night dinner which was just cold meats and cheese (chef's night off?). But other evening meals all delicious. The small staff are really well trained and the feeling is...

We rented an apartment for a week. The property is in an "agroturismo" that is a location where they raise and produce their own animals. The restaurant can compete with the best restaurant in New York. Every product is "organic" and cooked at perfection. The horse school well handled. With regards to the apartment itr was specious, very clean and...

We stayed in a 1 bedroom villa for 1 week at Il Poggio in the very small, but beautiful town of Celle sul Riggo. The resort is beautiful, the views are amazing, the stables are wonderful, the restaurant was excellent, and the service we received was amazing. We felt very welcome and accommodated, we arrived late (past check in time)...

We wanted a trip 'back in time' to enjoy the simple pleasures of life - a relaxed schedule to truly enjoy each other and the beauty of the magnificent landscape, fabulous food, time to explore the nooks and crannies of the old-world charm of Tuscany. The location couldn't have been more perfect, nestled among the mountains with a 360 degree...

Comfortable, clean, cozy, Great location for base camp to explore Tuscany! Great wine and cheese shop on the property. The staff were super friendly and helpful in places to go and learning a little Italia. Can't wait to return.

We spent a week in this nice place. The staff was very helpful with any request, and did everything to give us a feeling of a welcome guest. Main bedroom was comfortable, but the second one was narrow. Unfortunately, the kitchen is a little small and poorly equipped. The site is good location for a star tour in the area.

We trained in from the North to Chiusi, where we picked up our rental car, and 30 minutes later we arrived in Celle sul Rigo and Il Poggio. We too utilized an RCI swap and were delighted with the results: great location, friendly and very helpful staff, and cozy, private accommodations. The RCI-required half-board was just fine: Chef Massimo kept our...

We had a 1 bedroom unit for 2 adults, it was very nice. Since their restaurant was closed for the season, we did not have mandatory half-board and we liked it this way. Good place for day-trips - there are plenty of small towns around to visit, as well as Siena, Perugia, Orvietto and Arezzo. The area is famous for its...

We had a 2 br/2 ba unit for 4 adults (RCI-so 50 Euro per person per day for ½ board) and visited in December. The unit was simply furnished but clean, had a stocked fireplace, plenty of towels and hot water, and a small kitchen. The wi-fi was free and worked fine, which helped us plan our day trips. Housekeeping...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
On a hill near the medieval town of Celle sul Rigo, between Val d’Orcia and Val di Chiana, stands the Il Poggio Holiday Farm. The Farmhouse, the central building of the farm, offers a peerless view that spreads over Valle del Rigo, the Radicofani stronghold, Monte Amiata, Monte Cetona, up to Valle dell’Elvella which is bordered in perspective from the town of San Casciano dei Bagni. The Il Poggio buds from the join of two family farms grown up in the spirit of tradition. In 1987 it starts to be in business by doing the first refurbishments of the rural buildings. ... more   less
