This was my favorite stay in Panama. An old US officers lodge, the hotel sits on Lake Gatun in the rain forest with large windows and open balconys. Wild animals abound--monkeys, birds, etc. The food was surprisingly good. The only problem is the general deterioration on the physical plant: bathrooms can be moldy, dehumidifiers overflow, etc. Also, the support staff...

We stayed here for 2 nights as part of a tour. It is a large resort with a lovely pool area and atrium area. The rooms are large with balconies. It is a little older but still very nice. Food in the restaurant was buffet and very good.

The resort is set in a gorgeous location. We were glad we came just to experience Gamboa with its abundant natural beauty and interesting history. The resort itself needs some serious TLC. Basic maintenance issues which could be easily remedied seem to be ignored (peeling paint, broken chair in the room, mold in the shower, burnt out bulbs that were...

Great place for nature and relaxing. Be careful for misquote though. It's location makes very convenient to explore the Gatun Lake and Bamboa Rain Forest. The service was very good. The resort was a bit outdated and needed continuously updating.

I was on a Caravan Tour that spent 2 nights here. The breakfast and dinner was buffet style, food was well prepared with a good variety. Unfortunately, I discovered passion fruit here - love it! (Can't get it at home of course.) The view from the dining room was lovely. The bar was large and impressive with hand-carved bird heads...

The setting inside the rainforest is beautiful, but one has the feeling that this place has seen better days. Rooms are spacious, with balconies strung with hammocks. But if one looks closely, one will see certain items in the room are defective (one lamp shade is torn in mine), many surfaces in the furniture are dusty, etc. The front desk...

We stayed for two days in Feb. and we would never stay again. My family had rented 2 rooms, both had dead bugs in them upon arrival.(yes,I know it's in the rain forest) We never received maid service even after requisition two times at the front desk. The last night of our stay I waited at the front desk until...

Stunningly beautiful surroundings: I loved waking up each morning, sitting on the balcony with a view of the river, and seeing how lighting would change the appearance of everything. My husband enjoyed napping in the balcony hammock, and it was fun to be so close to the Panama Canal. Peaceful, quiet (minus loud guests), fantastic pools, comfortable rooms, but PRICEY!...

Arrived early due to morning flight. While waiting for check-in was told we have choice of 2 restaurants and the bar for lunch. So we booked 3 tours with the hotel for our 2 day stay (one very expensive) then went on to have a buffet lunch. To our surprise our all inclusive package did not include the lunch because...
