Detailed Reviews
The Old Bank is a beautiful building that has been tastefully restored and successfully reinvented as a B&B. The room I stayed in was spotlessly clean, the bed was comfortable, there were tea/coffee making facilities and lots of useful storage space for clothes. The bathroom was huge, well stocked with towels and had a bath with a fixed shower, water pressure was good and the water was hot. The old sash windows work like new which really surprised me. Breakfast at the Old Bank is an absolute treat, I can’t rate it highly enough. The table is set perfectly, the cutlery is sparkling, the coffee is good and there is a plate of sweet baked goods and a glass of orange/apple juice waiting for you while you order. The menu is diverse and modern, something for everyone. I had the full Irish breakfast and I was not disappointed, the sausages, rashers and pudding are all locally sourced and it tells, delicious. I give this establishment my highest recommendation.

The Old Bank is a beautiful and cosy B&B with as much charm as the town of Bruff itself. Never did I feel I was infringing on family space and yet I felt at home, with a warm fire to greet me and a spotless kitchen all kitted out with cooker, utensils, microwave, fridge, freezer and dishwasher at one's disposal. It's on the main street in Bruff but not noisy at all. Breakfast was my favourite time of day. You gotta try the homemade morning bakes which are absolutely delicious and pair perfectly with a scandalous scéal or tourist attraction recommendation from Miriam. The staff are all super friendly and genuinely helpful. The rooms are comfortable and spacious. Little bedside chocolates add that extra touch. Loved the jacuzzi bath which you wouldn't get in a standard hotel and that would also cost more! Warm, exceptionally clean, Netflix, trouser press, an interesting placard of history on the back of the room door all make this place undoubtedly the best B&B I've ever stayed at. Miriam & Family are doing a fantastic job to bring the best of Irish hospitality and humour together with the needs of the modern post-Covid lodger.

My boyfriend and I stayed here as part of a little summer roadtrip. A beautiful spot that surpassed expectations. The hostess, Miriam, was very welcoming and we were delighted that she gave us a free room upgrade. The room itself was stunning and sparkling clean. There was great clarity of instructions about keys and amenities etc. given the current regulations in place. The jacuzzi bath was also a lovely luxury. We knew we were going walking in the mountains and weren’t sure what time we’d be back so we decided against booking dinner in the nearby pub incase we were late. The hostess was very obliging regarding booking dinner reservations etc. We ended up getting takeaway from the Chinese across the road and eating it in the room. The food was great, we were tired and the room was gorgeous, with a table and chairs so this suited us fine. Breakfast was delicious! Had a gorgeous full Irish and there was also a spread of pastries and muffins to choose from- all yum! Overall, a lovely stay.

This place is a hidden gem--a beautifully decorated, extremely clean and comfortable place to stay for travelers exploring the middle of Ireland. My mom and I stayed on our way back from Dingle to Dublin, and it was the perfect stopping point. Our room was beautiful and the book of information about the area and recommendations was so thorough and interesting to peruse. Miriam is an excellent host, and her homemade baked goods with breakfast were such a treat! Also appreciated the steps taken to be environmentally conscious, and that the meat with breakfast came from her husband's butcher shop! Would 100% recommend staying here, you'll be glad you did!

My partner and I stayed at the Old Bank for three nights, and we had an absolutely lovely time. The place itself is every bit as beautiful as on the website photographs. The suite we stayed in was beautifully appointed and very quiet. The breakfast menu was one of the best we have ever seen in a B and B and many hotels. The home-baked pastries especially were a real treat. But more than anything, what made our stay special was the way Miriam, the owner, and her staff went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect. They were all lovely people. We would go back to the Old Bank with great pleasure.

+1
A fabulous stay! Miriam the owner has thought of everything. Spotlessly clean, comfortable, and welcoming. Our room featured a coffee and tea service, bottled water and glasses, hairdryer, and a custom binder of information and local attractions. Bathroom with fluffy towels, soap, lotion, and shower gel. Parking on the street or behind the building. Guests get a key to the building and their room. Don’t miss breakfast, especially if you are gluten free! Convenient to Shannon Airport, we will definitely be back!

Ah Thank you so much for your detailed review, we really appreciate it. I'm still giggling when you saw your gluten free pastry plate and exclaimed, "this is like Christmas morning" As a mum with a child that had lots of allergies, all I can say is we try and love to see the positive reactions from our guests. I was pleased to bring my family to stay at the Old Bank in Bruff and we were delighted with the time spent here. Miriam couldn’t have been more welcoming to us. She was a great source of knowledge on places to visit in local area, Limerick and beyond. The rooms are charming; very well set out; and very comfortable. The breakfasts were just fabulous in terms of choices and quality. The homemade bread and muffins were to die for and a real treat each morning. There is a nice lounge area where guests can sit and relax in front of a lovely fire. We used Bruff as a place from which to visit Kilmallock, Limerick City and onwards to the Cliffs of Moher. We spent our evenings visiting local pubs in Bruff - where there was a warm welcome and friendly people. Clancys Pub fed us really well one night - even though we arrived after the time their kitchen had closed. All in all, the Old Bank proved to be the perfect location for a family visit to celebrate my 60th year. I hope I get the opportunity to come back and stay again. I would certainly choose a return to the Old Bank in Bruff.

When you walk into the Old Bank B&B, you are greeted first with a lovely soft fragrance and soft soothing music, like an expensive spa. Then Miriam welcomes you with a beautiful smile. Ascending the beautifully carpeted stairs to the rooms, the fragrance and music accompany you. The rooms were a delight! Spacious and spotless. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was larger than most we encountered on our trip. Breakfast was very nice, fresh fruit, full Irish and tasty, flaky pastries. We were given a box to bring our leftover pastries with us. We enjoyed hearing the story of the renovation and the pictures of before, during and after.
Clancy's was a short walk for dinner with good food and great Guinness.
This was one of our favorite places to stay during our 2 week adventure in Ireland.

We stayed two nights at the Old Bank and we didn't want to leave. Miriam is the perfect host. She greeted us by name as we entered and we had a lovely chat and a bit of Irish banter as we checked in. The whole place is filled with character. The open fire in the lounge area is very inviting , the stairs and corridor has intresting art and decor. Our two rooms were lovely , both with their own interesting decor and personalities and the breakfast on both mornings was leagues ahead of any other hotel we have stayed in . We will be back in Bruff again and we will be staying with Miriam beacuse were friends now. Great experience .

We had a warm welcome from Miriam, who at every point did her best to make our stay enjoyable. Bruff is a village full of history and one felt the atmosphere of days gone by in this lovely old, yet tastefully modernised building. Breakfast was thoroughly enjoyed, with Pat’s bacon and sausages, and Miriam’s freshly made muffins and breakfast pastries. As these were more than we could eat, she provided a lovely take-away box so we could enjoy them later in the day. We loved the Jacuzzi bath and the open fire in the reception library area. THANKS for a wonderful stay!
