We stayed in the stand-alone units, not the main building. The construction looked newer than the main building, so not sure how it compares. Our group of 20 were likely the only ones there, and the hotel didn't seem to be up and running for the season yet. Biggest complaint is that it was very warm and, with no A/C, the sliding door and side door had to be left open to get any air circulating. But without screens, the mosquitoes feasted on us.
4 stars? Really? I don’t think so. It’s a big hotel, with a nice pool area, and easy access to a marvelous sandybeach with many umbrellas and lounge chairs. So these public areas would deserve 4 stars. But not so our room which could hardly rise to a 3 star rating. Old, unattractive furniture, torn mosquito screen, dilapidated concrete around the terrace, and NO FUNCTIONAL WIFI OR PHONE signal. We had to go to the reception area and outside near the parking to read our email and make a phone call. The “sea view” was very disappointing: it’s very limited and it looks over an ugly covering of the restaurant below. There is a small refrigerator in the room, but before you open your wine or beer, take note that there are no glasses to drink from!! My husband had to go down to the reception at midnight to ask for a glass for a sip of water! Also this place seems very popular with families, so be prepared for playground-level noise.…
First and foremost, both my wife and I still cannot process the fact that despite being surrounded literally everywhere by olive trees, seeing how the hotel is in Kalamata renowned worldwide for their olives, the buffet didn't offer a single olive or even olive oil for the entire week while we were there. Not even in the salad! Morning or evening. The Aperol Spritz we ordered didn't seem to have any alcohol, prosecco or even soda in it. The buffet offered was almost the same everyday and the quality of the food either bland or to oily and, on top of it, the cheapest variation of it. The drain in the shower seemed to be blocked and the water took a long time to drain. The room, however, was quite big and clean. Even though the resort beach and pool area are well maintained and nice, there is nothing to do and see anywhere in the vicinity of the hotel and the surroundings were depressing. …
A very nice hotel in a beautiful area of Messini on the beach of Bouka. Reasonably priced offers all the amenities and most of all exceptionally nice service, either in the rooms or the reception or the bar & restaurants. Very friendly and smiling people make you feel really welcomed.
Spent three a week with my family. We had a room in one of the separate small buildings. The room had nothing too special but it was spacious (and space is important when with kids) and clean. We could have used a small kitchenette but only a fridge was available. Other than the swimming pool the hotel does not have many facilities. There was a small sort of playground which did come in handy. The beach is right in front of the hotel and the hotel offers free sunbeds. The beach and the waters are just fine I would not recommend the hotel for couples ; at least not during August.
We stayed the last night of our holiday at the GMP Bouka before catching our plane from Kalamata the next morning. It was a very good place to stop - 15 minutes maximum from the airport. We had a spacious, extremely comfortable room with balcony overlooking the pool and beach. Bed very comfortable - spacious room. We enjoyed last swims both in the pool and the sea. Had a great meal at the restaurant, good breakfast and staff very friendly and charming.
Place is very nice and equipment great the kids there have a fantastic time and is so well organised Food is really good but a little crazy when served and the pool is mayhem with so many kids there. But for a family holiday for active kids it's spot on
The hotel was very satisfying to our needs. It has a nice buffet for breakfast, coffee and tea serving at all times in the lounge for the guests of the hotel for free, a nice shallow swimming pool with a lifeguard preventing too much noise and jumps, reasonable prices for whatever you order by the pool, to drink or to eat, and a nice buffet for dinner, which costs 16€/adult and 6€/child over 6 years old. The sea is right in front of the hotel, without having to cross a road. The staff was very polite. As a disadvantage i would have to say that everyone can swim in the pool, even if they are not guests, which ends up having a very crowded and dirty pool at some point and also that the internet doesn’t work very well in the areas of the hotel apart from the lounge.. Overall a nice choice for families, 15-20 min drive from Kalamata if you want to do something more crowded. …
We booked this hotel as it had INDOOR and OUTDOOR pool plus by the beach. When we got there we got told different stories by the staff! The outdoor pool was out of order due to being repaired as it had a problem. One of the staff said 10 days ago and the other one said 2 days ago! At least the staff should tell the same story! I then asked about the INDOOR pool to be told they DIDNT have one although it is on their own web site!!!! The room over looked the big bins so when you sat on the balcony you also got the smell! We had a kettle in the only but ONLY TEA NO COFFEE! When I asked about that they said they ONLY put TEA. Never have I stayed in a hotel which had only tea! We went for a walk down to the beach where they had beach chairs which were in bad condition and broke. Th beach was very dirty as well. Walking round the grounds we saw the fountain which was by the restaurant that looked like it never worked due to the colour of it. See in photo. The restaurant looked as dirty and not even working! At night after midnight we were woken up by a staff car revving up for 20 minutes then they drove away only by coming back later to do the same thing! I just wished we had booked the hotel next door that looked clean and working plus much cheaper! We stayed in this hotel in May when all the other hotels were in full swing of summer!…
This hotel is perfect if you just want an easy relaxing stay right on the beach. It was a perfect spot to rest right after arriving in Greece and before we continued our travels. It is close to Kalamata airport and an easy drive from Athens. The beach is long and sandy, so you can take walks. There is also a place down the beach that has lots of paddleboard, sailboats etc in case you need more activity. Hotel food was good as was the food in the next door taverna. The town of messini is pretty basic, so if you need more food variety, you'd have to drive to Kalamata. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful and hotel was clean. We had a seaview room, decor a bit dated, but nice private balcony. There were lots of loud kids and loud groups at the pool and beach, but if you don't mind walking with your towel, there's plenty of quiet beach away from the hotel lounge chairs.…
