Hotel “Pounti” is a 14th century building made of rock. In 2008 it was renovated paying great respect to the tradition and architecture of the houses of Pyrgi village. We made something unique using all our creativeness and preserving all the special features of a traditional house of Pyrgi village ( turns, rocks, colors). There are two rooms avilable, a 2persons (doublebeded with fireplace and a small appartment (2-4 persons)in two levels.

Comfy beds, lashings of hot water, beautifully freshened every day. 3 different roof gardens for views, for relaxing or reading, with beautiful flowers, scented shrubs & atmospheric lighting. Lunch not needed after Toula's amazing breakfasts! Homemade pastries, cakes, jams & jellies, local cheeses & meats, home grown olives-and yoghurt of course. 2 minute stroll from the main square, 5 minutes to ATM & well stocked supermarket.

A wonderful place to stay, full of atmosphere and cozy corners. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and the best we had in Greece. You felt the layers of history all around you and there was a great roof terrace. The owner was super helpful and very friendly. I thoroughly recommend it.

Our week-long stay in Pyrgi was magical and Toula's hospitality and kindness were a big part of why we loved the village. Hotel Pounti is only steps away from the village square and is immaculate, charming, traditional and very comfortable. Toula is always available to help with any issues and prepares an amazing breakfast each morning, yet she also manages to be discreet. She is a caring and generous woman, always ready to help with phone calls or suggest destinations. She even took the time to help us learn a bit of Greek. The village itself is in the perfect location for day trips. We particularly enjoyed Volissos, Mesta, and the beach at Elintas Bay. Also take some time to enjoy the village square of Pyrgi. The people are welcoming and we made several friends. Can't wait to return to Hotel Pounti!…

OUTSTANDING in all categories - rooms, breakfast, service. Words cannot describe the wonderful and warm atmosphere we enjoyed during our 8 days stay in Pounti. It was so cozy that we prolonged two times. A big THANK YOU to our landlady Toula, who really ensured that we spent unforgettable days there. Her „filoxenia“ was everywhere. The breakfast she made was delicious, fresh and served with love. In each corner of the house you can see and feel the warm spirit of Toula. Her dedication to the guests is remarkable. We will never forget the fantastic scent in the rooms, in the soft towels, the candle lights, the colors, the tasty and rich breakfast – a feast for all our senses. We came as foreigners and left as friends. Toula will always be in our hearts. Pyrgi, the village where Pounti is located, is a quiet place giving the impression that time stands still. After only a few days the community knows you and you feel integrated. We can recommend the kitchen of Kostas Kanios. He serves traditional Greek food (moussaka & pastitsio) as well as fantastic burgers (he spent years in the States) and Italian cuisine.…

Bravo! to Mrs Toula (owner) of this small but excellent B&B hotel and even more! Mrs Toula was always there to satisfy your needs and prepare everything for you. Delicious breakfast, homemade marmelade, pies, cookies! Everywhere you can smell the domestic herbs and spices. It is originally decorated preserving the tradition of homes in Chios island. Pyrgi is a beautiful unique village from where you can visit the rest of the island. Thank you again for your hospitality!

This small b&b is a hidden gem in the small village of Pyrgi. I loved everything about it. First, It's kind of amazing to stay at a traditional house. You get a good idea of local architecture and if you get the village guide you'll understand the reasons this quite unusual way of building was developed there. Second... Mrs. Toula !!! she is an excellent hostess. Very friendly but also very discrete, she did everything to make us feel comfortable. She would prepare the roof terrace in the evening and would make cakes for our breakfast. Thyme-honey was delivered from Psara (a nearby island) and fresh fruit from local producers. There are 3 rooms in total, which makes it perfect for groups of 4-6 people. Book it all for yourselves if you would like some more privacy. Rates were quite reasonable. We had an excellent stay at Pounti. Recommended to all those who are after the simple and authentic aspect of greek hospitality.…

...I promise you it is! Pyrgi, a beautiful blend of the past and the present, with very friendly locals. A short walk away from the main village square, the B&B has a distinct homely and traditional feel. You could cosy up in the mezzanine area or chill out under the stars on the roof terrace (highly recommended). Ms Toula is most definitely the 'hostess with the mostest', her home-cooked breakfasts were phenomenal (make sure you try everything at least once!). Enjoy your stay there, it would be really hard not to.

Located at the picturesque and quiet village of Pyrgi, Pounti is a B&B which offers a unique opportunity to step back in time and get a glimpse of how the residents of the village used to live. The building is a renovated traditional house of Chios. Each of its three bedrooms together with the lounge and the breakfast area have been decorated tastefully and with great care to reflect the old days. Of course, all the modern facilities are there for you to use :-) Ms Toula, the owner of the B&B is a fantastic hostess and a lovely woman. Get ready to have one of the best breakfasts you've ever had. Five star hotels do not offer such breakfasts. Each morning, the table was full of local products, home-made jams and cakes and pastries freshly made by Ms Toula. If you are sick of commercial, utterly boring hotels I would strongly recommend Pounti. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.…
