Belvedere hotel ex- Aeolis is in a great spot if you want to get Away from it all without being out on a limb. Built into a hillside overlooking the sea, it’s in a quiet position just outside Molyvos – but it’s only a ten-minute walk from the town centre. The hotel suns a twice –daily courtesy bus into town, as well. Plus, you’ve got a beach a few minutes’ walk away. The pool makes the most of the hotel’s location. Positioned at the back of the main building, it’s surrounded by teak decking and likes straight out over the countryside and sea. Wooden sunloungers and parasols line the water and there’s a whirlpool bath for some post-swim pampering. And if you want to burn off some energy, you’ve got an open-air gym tucked behind the pool.Inside, everywhere feels shiny and new thanks to a recent Facelift.Big windows usher in the light and flocked salon chairs, leather sofas and gleaming marble floors take pride of place in the public rooms. The restaurant is a case in point. Approached down a sweeping marble staircase, it’s spacious and light with a grandiose feel. You can enjoy the American-style buffet breakfast here and head for the hotel’s on-site taverna for lunches and dinners. As for the rooms, they’re bungalow-style affairs tiered into the hillside. Recently refitted, there’re smart and clean, with faux leather headboards, ceramic floors and stylish peach and coffee colour schemes. In-room fridges, satellite TVs and balconies or terraces add the finishing touches. If you like the idea of more independence, meanwhile, it might be worth choosing the studio rooms, which come with their own kitchenettes.LOCATION. 80m to the beach, 800m to the resort centre, shops, restaurants and nightclub, 20m to the bus stop, complimentary shuttle bus to Molyvos 4 times a day.TRANSFER TIME. 1hr 45 minsSWIMMING POOL. swimming pool, sun beds, umbrellas, large gardens, pool towels, pool bar serving snacksMEALS. The staff were lovely, our room was great, large and comfortable, aircon worked, all rooms have sea views, as a couple without children we spent most of our time at the adults only pool which was amazing, so quiet, beautiful view with a bar staffed all day. Food was on occasion not as warm as we liked ( we've heard this is typical of greece) but a wide variety of options at breakfast ( hot and cold)lunch and dinner (lots of meat and potato meals, fish as well as a large salad and pudding section), one Greek day when we were there. We did go out a couple of nights for food in other restaurants in town which were fantastic. The hotel is a little out of town and because of the 38 degree heat we always got the hotel minibus into town and a taxi back at a cost of about 5 euros. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone with mobility issues due to being on a hillside, it was quite an uphill walk from the adults only pool to the restaurant. We didn't mind but thought worth mentioning. However the hillside location meant it has superb views from the restaurant and bar area. We would go back to molivos again and we would happily stay at the belvedere again.

Perfect holiday, perfect location. We will be back! The hotel itself is a typical Greek hotel, it’s clean and comfy and the staff are all lovely, The food - yes it’s not roasting hot but nowhere in Greece will you get that, it’s all served to Greek standards. We went all inclusive and the food was lovely, always a good choice, lots of fresh salad and the potato wedges were amazing! Drinks were typical all inclusive drinks, some cocktails which were ok, and you could pay to get better spirits or cocktails. The adults pool bar when open was ok- Pepsi out of bottles though and sometimes flat, but did make up some cocktails and offer them round the pool, and the main bar guy made sangria and was always nice and friendly! The wine was also nice! The hotel is perfect as it offers a shuttle into town meaning you can get out and about, the same shuttle will also pick you up at designated times and that for us was a winner over other hotels. (Taxi fare is only €6 though!) Tip- get the bus from molivos into anaxos (€1.80, and main bus stop near molivos taxi rank) and spend the day at Acapulco and enjoy the beach and a beer and a gyro there! Overall we would defo return, the only downside was the adults pool was freezing!!! Not sure on other pool as didn’t use it. The staff make this hotel, room was always clean, food areas clean, bar clean, toilets in main hotel clean. Could do with a better pool table! Thanks Belvedere for a fab holiday! We will be back!

Whilst I understand this is a 3* hotel there is no excuse for tepid food, not only is it not hot but often swimming in oil/fat. The meat was not only cold but dried out so tough. Chips were obviously precooked and reheated to a tepid temperature so was chewy at best. We ate out all but the first night, there's some lovely restaurants in the area. If you drink G&T good luck with that if you are AI as tonic isn't included in AI. As for the vodka, think it was petrol or diesel lol, totally undrinkable. Whilst the machine says Pepsi/Pepsi Max it wasn't but tasted ok. Beer was ok when they didn't run out! On the good side the hotel rooms were clean although beds were very hard so if you prefer something softer you're out of luck. Most the staff were lovely and helpful especially the receptionists. Be warned though if you have mobility problems it is VERY hilly so not suitable for wheelchairs/walking aids etc Lesvos is a lovely Island, not much to do other than eat out and sightsee etc very quiet but good heritage and interesting.

Hotel Belvedère really lives up to its name with its beautiful view. The semi-detached bungalows are built against a mountain and each apartment has a magnificent view of the sea towards Turkey. It is not too big and it exudes tranquility. On the beautiful terrace you can have breakfast, lunch and dinner with a beautiful view. It seems like a family business. All employees are very involved, super friendly and service oriented. The skilled kitchen brigade does its utmost to serve visitors something tasty every time. The friendly ladies at the reception will assist you all day long with advice and action. The cozy bartenders provide the guests with the most delicious drinks. The shuttle bus takes you to Molyvos and back at fixed times. The hotel has 2 swimming pools with plenty of sunbeds. Hotel Belvedere is a gem on Lesbos!!!

No good if mobility is an issue however overall excellent.I contacted them prior to our stay and they gave us a room near the top pool restaurant & bar. I never went to the infinity relax pool due to the hill and knee issues. Food - good varied and very Greek but never hot just Luke warm but that’s expected in Greece Rooms- immaculately clean spacious & typically Greek Pool - excellent sun beds plentiful and always available Drinks - reasonable never going to get drunk and rowdy on them but good Bus to Molyvos - drops you off at the football field so still a walk from the town goes at 10am, 2pm, 7pm & 10pm Sunsets amazing Really enjoyed our 11 nights

A well laid out, elevated site with fabulous views across the sea to Turkey and easy access to the local town which is itself unspoilt and full of character. We really enjoyed the food that was always varied, plentiful and excellently cooked. Air conditioning makes the rooms comfortable even when the temperature reaches the high 30’s

I have to say the scenery was beautiful that’s what made this holiday as for the hotel I felt the school canteen vibe with this all inclusive the food was fine but not much choice for children but I do except my daughter is fussy so if you have a child like mine this in itself is not for you. The staff were just ok not the friendliest, sort of felt like we We’re burden almost. The room was basic which was fine I expected that but the bathroom did smell which wasn’t very nice! the showers flooded everywhere so we did slip a few times so quite unsafe. I love the island but I wouldn’t come back to this hotel. The hotel needs updating desperately.

Spent a week at the Belvedere Hotel with the family in August 2022 and had a wonderful time. The hotel was in a great location with good facilities and very friendly helpful staff. The rooms are getting a little tired now, as others have mentioned, but they are a good size, they are clean, they have air conditioning and ours had an amazing view right across to the Turkish coast. For the money, they were fine. The hotel has two pools, both spotless and cleaned and serviced everyday. There were plenty of sun loungers at both and no need to play the towels on the bed game at the crack of dawn each day. Not only is this actively discouraged by the hotel, its not necessary either as most people didn't tun up until after 1000 each day. Having two distinct pools helped as well. The larger pool was for everyone but the smaller infinity pool they call the 'Relax Pool' was basically for adults only, however you can take well behaved children there later in the afternoon after around 1600 if you ask the staff and it's not too busy. The relax pool has a bar on site amazing views across the sea and a hot tub as well. The large main pool has a smaller toddlers pool with it as well and a smaller area for water polo etc but be warned it is very deep for a family pool! Great for diving in though! The main pool is located next to the restaurant and main bar which makes life very easy. There is a 'gym' of sorts located next to the main pool but only the bike and the chest press worked during our visit and the other equipment all needed servicing. Hopefully as they start generating revenue again after covid they will be able to look at updating and fixing it. The rooms are all chalet type rooms speed around the footprint of the site which is basically down the side of a hill looking out of the sea. Very easy to navigate around and not a vast sprawling site either. There are no safes in the rooms which is a shame but there is a safety deposit box system at reception which can be accessed 24hrs. There is no shop at the hotel which is a sham as there is certainly room for one and they are missing a trick there. There is a smaller hotel almost next door though and they have a shop open everyday where you can buy basics, including sun cream and aftersun and children's inflatables for the pool (obviously the prices are marked up accordingly). The same road that separates the two hotels also leads you down to the beach which is a 5 min walk away. There are a small number of sun beds at the beach but limited shade if you need it. The beach itself is shingle so you will need beach shoes, however the pay off for this is that the water is crystal clear and shallow for quite a way out so perfect for small children to paddle in. Its full of small fish as well so snorkel and masks or even just googles are recommended. The hotel is about 1500 metres from the nearest town of Molyvos which is well worth a visit. You can easily walk it if needed however the hotel runs a regular mini bus service and taxis are about 8 euros one way. The castle is worth a visit, although its quite a steep walk in the sun if you have small children. There is also an old labour full of restaurants and the sea front as well, again full of excellent bars and restaurants. Most of these have access to the beach with they own sun beds as well so you can stop there for a drink or food and use the beach. The hotel laid on entertainment everyday in the evenings but this was quite late if you have children. However, in keeping with the family theme it wasn't too lively and loud. The food was basic but pretty good, no complaints there from me. We never er ever had to que for it like you do in other larger resorts and there was always plenty. Staff we always on hand to replace trays quickly as well. There was a well stocked salad bar, good choice of main options and a good desert cart. There is also an ice cream stall for the kids which opens at 1500 each day. The restaurant has coffee and pastries/bread rolls/sliced meat etc out from around 0700 if you're up early and breakfast starts properly from around 0745. It only begins to get busy after 0900 but even then it was never difficult to get a table. When we stayed most of the other guests seemed to be Dutch and they were all extremely friendly and polite. This is a real family resort though, not a lively venue and probably best suited to pre-teen children, which is exactly what we wanted. If you want kids clubs and lots of activities for older children then look elsewhere. This was our third holiday with Jet2 and I can't complain about it at all, everything went as smoothly as you would hope. The transfer from the airport was by coach and takes about 2 hours. The journey had echoes of the final scene in 'The Italian job' as some of the roads in the mountains are a little steep, but the driver clearly knew what he was doing and if you don't look down you'll be fine... All in all I would recommend this place and for the money I think its excellent value. It's perfect for families with small children up to teenager or at the other end it would be good for a couple who want a quiet week away. If you have older kids who want lots of activities you might want to look at other venues. We would defiantly go back though.
